A useful set of measurement activities for my Year 1s. Exactly what I was looking for to teach the concept of shorter and longer. On pages 3 and 4, though, I would love it if the metre sticks were both to the right of the objects, instead of sometimes on the right and sometimes on the left. It would be more consistent, and then the pictures could be read left to right by pointing.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Before completing my student teaching in Germany, I was offered a job. Directly after graduating, I moved back to Germany and have been here every since. I taught Year 4 (3rd grade) for the last four years, but will be moving to Year 1 for the 2012-2013 school year.

I graduated from North Central College in Naperville, IL with a degree in Elementary and Middle School Education. In addition, I have been certified as a Reading Specialist. Although my training was outstanding, I've honestly learned far more from my students and colleagues.
