Hey, I'm so glad y'all are enjoying the units. I have just started "revamping" units 1-4. After teaching the units a complete year, I am making some minor changes to them and adding a few new ideas, charts, songs, and a few more activities. I don't know if you purchased unit 5, but that unit was a little different than the others. It had a plan for each day with had the materials, teach point, mini lesson and student work. I am going back to all the units and including that for each day. Yes, I am also working on bundling the assessments. The are all already made, so that should be coming soon. In teaching this unit an entire year, I saw where some things needed more days or where I needed to quickly add something in that wasn't. That will be included in the new uploaded units. You can just re-download when I post. I am adding more days to the units so that should make it more than 22 weeks. We have about 3 weeks between Christmas and the end of the year that we don't really do full on math lessons, due to programs, festivals, and that sort of thing. Talk with your principal and see if she might be interested in professional development. I do math consulting and do professional development on first grade core and go in-depth with the units and how to effectively teach them. My email is lizziepink1@gmail.com
I can't say enough about the deep thinking and gains my students made from the math journals. I hight recommend them. They are a deep thinking tool. We do math buddies 3 days a week and they actually do their math journal with their buddy for morning work and on their own Tuesdays and Thursdays. In my PD we do an in-depth look at how to set up the math journal, look at it's components, and how to use it as a deep thinking tool. I hope this helps. :)
