My Teaching Experience

I have taught in the Muncie Community Schools, located in Muncie, Indiana, for 7 years. I have had a wide variety of classroom and private tutoring experiences ranging from primary to secondary levels. I have been recognized as 'Teacher of the Year' while teaching at a juvenile facility in a program called Priority School. I have taught in many different programs while working for Muncie Community Schools in the juvinle facility where my students have had very little success in regular school. I began developing many of my math ideas to help these and other students, including after school tutoring. I am currently working on a math pack for parents with Smekens Educational Solutions and am a contributing author for the Indiana Department of Education's Social Studies Curriculum Framework. I have also prepared and presented a teacher in-service for classroom and behavior management for Yorktown Middle School, located in Delaware County, Indiana.

My Teaching Style

My teaching style is to-the-point, yet creative. I enjoy creating resources for my students and thinking 'outside the box'.

Teacher of the Year for Muncie Community School's YOC School My shining teaching moment occurs every time I teach a student to borrow and regroup in a short amount of time when they could not before.
