zidekdm re: I Have, Who Has Game: Telling Time to the Half Hour
Hi!
I think the kids are going to love this! I was wondering about the 6:30 on page 4. I think the hour hand should be between the 6 and the 7. Let me know! Thanks!

How do you use the task cards for each month?

Hello, thank you for the question.

Each month has 4 task cards with it. In my class I usually do 1 task card a week as a way to change up our calendar time. To prep you select 1 task card and the calendar that goes with the month (there are 7 different calendars that have different start dates). Make enough copies for each student you are working with - it can be a small or large group activity or for an individual student. Each student needs a pencil and crayons. There are 10 tasks on each task card. The students listen for the direction and then record the information on their calendar. There are also modifications given in the tasks depending on skill level - for example, instead of saying "Draw a yellow star on the 3rd Thursday" you could give the date: "Draw a yellow start on the 21st."

I hope this helps. If you still have questions, please feel free to ask away :)

Hello,

For the Calendar Skills for Life bundle that I can buy for $3.50, does that inlcude a lesson plan? If not, do you have a Calendar lesson plan I can purchase?

Thank you!

Hello,

Thank you for contacting me. The bundle teaches calendar skills through a following directions type lesson. There is a task card for each "lesson" - 4 for each month that gives you explicit directions of what to say to the students. There are 10 steps on each task card. For example, "Put your finger on the number 12, color the date that comes next" or "Draw a star on the 3rd Tuesday of the month." There is no prep outside of copying the appropriate calendar (they are included as well).

I hope this helps!

LOL, after I msg'd you, and btw, thanks so much for responding, I though hey, let me look this lady up on FB as I found her first name and then realized it highly likely was not you. She had posted on the website the Wilson Fundations cursive info and I was wanting to use it and well, now, due to my procrastination, I can't get my hands on it. Will teach me a lesson next time, I guess! I believe this teacher teaches in Ohio (I think). Thanks for responding! While I'm here, will check out your things! Free is always good...haha! Thanks again and have a great school year!

Are you the same Mrs. Butzer that used to have a website with your name.com? I had saved this to my faves and now the website is no longer available. Please contact me either way so I know if it is you. jmelias@yahoo.com Thank you so much, this is no scam, I promise, a fellow teacher who loved some of your ideas.

No, I am not that Mrs. Butzer, but that is funny - Butzer is not a common last name. I'm sad there is no website anymore, I would have loved to check it out :) Do you know what she taught or where she was from?

I should add that I just started a blog, but that was less than a month ago!
