I haven't heard that this has been a problem for anyone else. Can you tell me what version of Powerpoint you are using? You may also want to try the download again to insure it wasn't corrupted during your first download.

The font that I used is called Learning Curve. For some reason it works ok for a majority but a couple people have this problem. It is a free font that you can download.

Once you install the font (I have a Mac so I do that in fontbook) then it will work properly. Sorry you had that problem. Let me know if you can't get it to work and I can try to troubleshoot it for you.

You can change the word without any problems as long as you don't delete the word and add it back in. If you have ANY problems with modifying it, let me know and I will modify it for you. I actually like the word COMPARE better than the word CHECK. I might have to change that this summer on all of my division Powerpoints. THANKS

Smart Notebook software will let you unlock any of the fields by doing a right click (or control/click on a MAC) and then selecting unlock. That let's you move and edit the field so you will want to re-lock the field when you are done.
As far as calling the first period ONES, I guess that is up to you. The most common name for that period is ONES but I have seen it labeled UNITS before.
The first page of the file that I am using has the place values at the bottom and they drag them into the proper place. I am going to update the file to make sure that is the file on Teachers Pay Teachers. You should be able to re-download the file without a problem.

Excel has a feature (on my machine under the file menu) for page set-up, then there is a pop-up window and you can select "print to one page" and excel will automatically scale the page. I find that handy when I add to files. But, be careful because eventually the writing can get a little small. Just added a comment in case it's helpful. Sounds like a great product!

Do you happen to have any other timers? My students this year are loving the Inspector Gadget timer. You should see them pick up or move between activities when I set the timer. It is a life saver. It is one thing that I have found that is working with my students this year. They ask for it if I do not put it up on the SMART board.

Carolyn - I have modified the spelling list generator and titled it spelling list generator (25 words)...catchy title, huh? lol. I had to play with the margins quite a bit to get it on one page so if you have problems printing it, adjust to 90% and see if that helps. Hope it does what you wanted... Erin

As the daughter of an English professor and published poet (Dr. Don Welch), I grew up with a deep appreciation of language. I taught for several years before working as a business executive for 20 years. I began working part time when my daughter was diagnosed with learning disabilities. She taught me the essence of teaching. Know what you teach so well that you can turn it, flip it, and stand it on its head. And if the student still doesn't understand...find angles you haven't yet explored.
