I teach first grade! I love working with this age level- they are active, curious, and fun! They come to school with positive attitudes ready to tackle the day! My students inspire me everyday to try new things, take risks, and to grow! Check out our class blog: www.mtasch.edublogs.org where you'll see all the fun things we do in class, classroom routines, and our setup. Thanks so much for checking out my TpT store!
I believe in balanced literacy and hands-on, engaging experiences. I believe students learn best through "doing", not "watching". I think good teaching is stepping back and allowing your students to explore with ideas and thoughts on their own. It's truly amazing when you "let go" and see what your students can produce when discussing and working in small groups or independently.
I am a member of my schools Literacy and Math teams.
I went to elementary school in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. For college, I got my BSE from UW-Whitewater. I am currently working towards my master's degree in differentiation through Concordia University.
