Thanks for the compliment :) When I made Unit 3 Daily Words, I added a line for my students to write a sentence on. I wanted to see them writing more and using the vocabulary. I didn't make cut and pastes as I didn't know if there would be interest in it. I have since had a few people ask if I would be doing one. I will see what I can come up with over Christmas.

I am so sold on your making words for Treasures! I bought all the units for 1st grade and am into my second week of using them. One suggestion that would just be an added bonus, perhaps you could add the unit and week number to each page on both the directions and practice pages. It could look like 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 through 6.5 with the first number or ones place number being the unit number and the second or tenths place number being the week number. Out of everything I've purchased on TPT, I have to say this is one of the top two most helpful things! You definitely earn my highest praise!! Thanks so much for coming up with this and offering it to the rest of us!

I store all my worksheets, books, practice work, etc, in a folder for each story, so I didn't really think about putting it on there until after I made the first grade set. I had the same thought as you with the directions pages, so I did do that with the 2nd grade set. Thank you! :)

This is actually the 2007 edition. However, when I look up the National Treasures Reading Series, it is the same as what I have in my classroom. We are currently on story from Unit 2-2nd Story. It is The Little Red Hen. Our spelling words are short e words. I hope that helps.

Looks like this one is actual lessons, so even if it covers very CCSS Standard for 1st grade math, you need to check all those categories so I can add it to them. Are the activities in the CVC Making Words different than the activities for the Reading Treasures series?

The sounds and words may overlap a bit, but the Treasures version follows the format for spelling words and phonics skills (r blends, blends, digraphs, etc.)
