My name is Alicia Lochridge and I have been teaching since 2003. During this time, I taught first grade for 7 years. I feel that children learn best with a variety of strategies, approaches, and high expectations. My vision is to offer quality products that promote the academic rigor of the Common Core State Standards.
It is my philosophy that in order to be an effective teacher, one must be able to empathize and adapt to students' needs. An effective teacher must view students as individuals with interests and styles unique to their lives. I feel that children learn best with a variety of strategies, approaches, and high expectations. Teachers should endeavor to continue learning themselves. This ensures that classrooms are informed, accurate, and well-prepared.
I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English from UNLV. In the summer of 2005, I earned my Masters of Science in Elementary Education from Nova Southeastern University. In 2009, I obtained my Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. In August 2012, I was appointed Assistant Principal at Triggs Elementary School. As an administrator, I now have the opportunity to exemplify excellence and promote positive standards to enhance the education of many more students.
