I have downloaded and unzipped the file however when I attempt to open the file there is nothing there. I have noticed only one issue that could be, but shouldn't be, the problem. I have a Starboard not Smartboard. I have used 'Smart' products before on the Star... Any ideas??

So sorry that I have been slow to respond! I was on vacation with no cell or internet since 8/17. These math meeting smartboard files go with the Saxon 4 kit. They are questions posted from the math meeting portion of the lesson. However, I created them from the version 1 kit and now we use the updated version 2 kit. The questions are not exactly how they appear in the lesson files but they are pretty close and give a good starting point. They are also fully editable if you wanted to take something out or add your own. I added many items in the higher lessons for review for state assessments. Thank you for your question!

I have Microsoft word, but when I went to the settings, you have margins set in the negative range and I can't alter them. I will ask the TPT help desk but perhaps you could just readjust the margins and send me that copy, it would still be protected and then I can actually use it.

I am not sure what you mean by negative margins. The margins fit on the page in Microsoft Word. Do you have Microsoft Word? I have sold hundreds of DBQ's with never a problem with them being downloaded. I tried researching offering a refund but couldn't find any information. I would try contacting Teachers Pay Teachers help desk and they might have a simple solution that I am unaware of. The document is copyright password protected but you should be able to print it as if it came from a book. Sorry I cannot provide more tech support without seeing your computer. Let me know what TpT advises.

After much consideration, I protected my word documents instead of converting them to PDF's which are also not able to be edited. I am choosing to protect my originals according to the advice of many. However, if a buyer chooses to edit them, they can always use old-fashioned means as if these were DBQ's from a booklet purchased in a store. There is a rubric for the essay provided and next to each constructed response question there is a number indicating its point value (1 or 2) out of 25 points. I do not have a separate answer key like you would see on a state test. Students may reply in a variety of ways and it is subjective as to what you will accept for your answers. As you can see on the sample, some of the questions are taken directly from the reading and others questions are higher level thinking that students infer. Thank you for your question and this is something I may consider creating in the future (when I get time!:)

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I teach in a rural district in a New York State Public School. I taught sixth grade social studies and math for eight years. Due to declining enrollment, I am now teaching fourth grade. I love the innocence of the fourth graders and am really enjoying the change. I can't imagine having any other job!
MY TEACHING STYLE
I believe teachers need to earn the respect of their students by demonstrating hard work and fair, consistent discipline. I also believe in having very high expectations for my students. It is amazing how they will rise to any challenge if they know what is expected of them. The increased use of technology in my classroom has added a new dimension to my lessons but it is not necessary for instruction to be exciting, motivating, and worthwhile. An enthusiastic teacher yields enthusiastic students!

I attended undergraduate school for four years to earn a BS in elementary education. After graduating, I was hired at a local school district to teach sixth grade. While teaching, I earned my MS in curriculum and instruction. I am now in my thirteenth year of teaching and teach 4th grade at the same school. I LOVE it!!

Like so many teachers, I have spent countless hours creating and customizing material to be used in my classroom. Now that I am a mother of a six-year old and three-year old, my time has been more limited. I found this site when I was searching for material for my new fourth grade class.
