Hi Valesca,

That is a little hard to answer. It really depends on you and your students.

I make enough packets that all of my students can choose packet to take home. Don’t panic, I make more than one of each activity. I let the students choose their activity and take it for one night. When they are returned the students are able to take another. I suggest doing this 2-3 times per week.

Other people have told me that they let one group of students take the packets. This usually means that students take packets only once a week.

There are about 20 different activities in each book. You can make as many or as few as you choose to. Again, I suggest that you make more than one of each, and include different manipulatives. This allows students to practice a chosen skill, but keeps them motivated because there are using different materials.

I hope this helps. I f you have more questions, please fell free to contact me again.

Thanks,
Gay

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught Kindergarten for 22 years and I love it. I have also taught Pre-K and 2nd grade. I have presented at the California Kindergarten Conference, EISS (Early Intervention for School Success) Research Institute, and I am an EISS California State Trainer.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in an integrated curriculum that is hands on, developmentally appropriate brain compatible, (Thanks to Dr. Pat Wolfe for the use of her term) and filled with concrete activities that meet state standards.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have had the honor of winning Teacher of the Year two different times in the Sulphur Springs School District. Additionally I was given one of Walmart’s Teacher of the Year awards. I was chosen as one of five EISS Level 2 Trainers for the State of California.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree, and teaching credentials in both Elementary and Secondary Education.
