Terry Pentz  (TpT Seller) re: Common Core Reading Learning Goals Rubrics or Scales
How many learning goals are there posters for? Is there one for main idea and detail, retelling, sequencing, ...?

I don't have more main idea and detail, retelling, etc.
Which poster were you looking at? If you want something specific let me know and I will do it for you if you want. Thank you for taking the time to look at my products.

Your example doesn't show beginning, middle and ending sounds for level 4. It says the same for level 3 and four. So you might want to check that out.

It is a little different for level 4 because it says to isolate and pronounce beginning, middle and ending sounds, and for 3 it omits middle sounds in CVC words. Please let me know but that is what I see when I click on the preview. THANKS!!!

How is this different from your common core reading and writing scale?

The Reading and Writing Scale or Rubric Poster visually gives the students the main Reading and Writing Standads for K-1. The 8 page products breaks down those main standards and gives the student a star point value to what is expected. I hope this helps you see the difference. if not please let me know. Thank you for you inquiry. Gisela

Your rating scale that you have posted for 2,3,4 is confusing. You have stated that a i is when the student knows some of both beginning and ending sounds, then you have learning both learning beginning and ending sounds for 3 and 4, how can that be?

I think you are talking about the preview that you get to see. That scale breaks down the student's knowledge of sounds into: 4 if the student knows beginning, middle and ending sounds; 3 if the student knows beginning and ending sounds; 2 if the student knows beginning sounds and 1 if they know "some" beginning and/or ending sounds (if there is no consistency). I hope this helps. I used them for the last 4 months of the school year, most of my students were already using begining, middle and ending sounds. I develop the scales so my students could see what was expected. I will let you know how the scales work now at the beginning of the school year when most of my students usually don't know the letters and/or sounds. I hope I answered your question, again please let me know. Thanks!

I am trying to understand the difference between your different products. This one has 8 pages and the combined reading and writing only has four pages.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught for 23 years. I am currently teaching and have for the past 15 years Kindergarten. I also taught ESE for 8 years from Prek - 1st grade. I love teaching and enjoy teaching the little ones!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to see myself as a facilitator and emphasize student-centered learning. I typically design group activities which necessitate active learning, student-to-student collaboration and problem solving. I try to design learning situations and activities that require student processing and application of course content in creative and original ways.
