yechi1 re: Fraction Bump! Creating and Reducing Fractions in a Partner Game
Can you explain how the game works, if played in partners?

Certainly! Each would take a turn, rolling the dice and creating a fraction. They would reduce their fraction to lowest terms and place a marker on the square that corresponds. The next player would then roll, create their fraction, and mark the spot on the board. The fun comes in when there is only one marker on the spot. Player 1 can bump off player 2's marker if there is only one of their markers on the spot. If there are two markers, then the spot is safe and the other player cannot take it.

My oldest went to Cal! We live in Sonoma so still frequent that part of the woods a lot! Loved your photo so just had to follow you. It's only right. I'm a newbie too. Happy Turkey Day!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been teaching since 1980 with my primary experience being upper elementary, specifically 4th Grade for the last 22 years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love to teach and I love to create new materials for my students. Each year is an adventure as I figure out what works with this particular group and create my lessons to play to their strengths and bolster up their weaknesses.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Multiple presentations of original math materials at workshops.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Sacramento State University and did my graduate work at UC Berkeley. I loved Cal much more than I thought I would.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Life on the farm keeps me busy...right now we're raising barn cats along with the crops.
