I have been a classroom teacher at a small, rural high school in Ontario, Canada for the past 8 years. For the past 4 of those years, I have been the department head of English/Literacy. My teaching practice has included grades 9-12, in the Academic (University prep), Applied(College prep) and Local (Workplace prep) streams. I have mainly taught English courses, however have also occasionally taught History, Civics, Art and Government.
I aim to create classroom materials that are based on the application of diagnostic assemessment to guage student starting points, formative assessment to enhance student learning and gain feedback as a teacher, assessment as the student is learning to ensure learning is taking place and then finally evaluative assessment.
