Hey, Haley. I downloaded your Daily 5 bundle, and love it. I plan on implementing this in my classroom next year. I have bought several of your other items as well, and really like your things. I was wondering if you could put up some of the things you do with your Daily 5 such as reader response sheets, that super sight word book you had on your daily 5 card, pocket chart activities, magnet board activities, and the rainbow write. Hi! Oh my goodness, I'm totally flattered that you would even ask me. :) We try not to use any worksheets at all (I use recording sheet in stations, but I think that's a bit different) so I don't really use anything for a daily review. I do have my story problems that we do each morning.

I work with mostly the struggling readers, but some of my students are working on or beyond grade level and I wanted to add a few more challenging words for them. I know you have a page of blank cards that we can copy and write in our own words, but is there any way to get a Word Document of those blank cards so that we can type the words and have them match the others? There are some problems with missing addend, and find the missing part. There are also some with 3 addends. But, we only find sums and differences to 20. My kiddos are pretty low, so we haven't even really hit 2 digit addition/subtraction yet. Sorry! I am working on a Kinder version...hopefully one day I can make a 2nd grade version. :)

Good lord, I am so sorry. I am getting married in two weeks, and got the flu, and I have been the worst seller EVER! :) I emailed you the binder with the extra pages you asked for. I usually get the colored tabs at Wal-Mart, but I don't label mine because I know where things are. I think the Post It labels work really well too! :) I know they make some cute colorful ones that you can write on and erase to change.

Haley, I just wanted to let you know there is quite a bit of extras attached with your making 10 rainbow product. (I absolutely love that and am doing it tomorrow with my class by the way!) Hi Linda! I actually will be using the Animal Themed one this year, but here is basically what will happen. :) On the 1st day, we will discuss all of our basic classroom expectations, and one of those is how loud our classroom should be at different times. Depending on the time, it will either be the first or second day that we go into different scenarios. We will practice the different voice levels, and then brainstorm times when each would be appropriate. We will probably make an anchor chart with illustrations of each. Once those are established, I will hang the posters on the board (showing all of them at once.) At first, we will decide as a class what level we should be at for each activity, and I will move an arrow to point to that one. As the year progresses, it will require less discussion and I can just say "remember...for this activity, we will be using whisper voices." On Alphabet Write the Room, I am curious why you chose to use capital letters, as most of the words in the room begin with lower case letters. This makes it more difficult for students who struggle and may not know both forms of the letters. Also why use a nonstandard font? I try to give my kinders good examples to copy, and a font that has all the letters the same size would be confusing to kids just learning to print. I have found these weird fonts on materials from many sellers here, and I just don't get why.

Hm...good thinking! Since I teach 1st grade, I actually think it's important to expose them to lots of different fonts. It's everywhere in our world, and they need to learn how to differentiate and use them. I do think that's a great point though...I changed it to a more standard font. There are not capital letters in the Smiley monster font, but I think it's a great representation of how lower case letters should look. :) Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you!! :)

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching for several years; I taught 3rd grade and loved teaching them! When I moved to 1st grade, I found my teaching home! I LOVE teaching 1st grade!
MY TEACHING STYLE
We don't use any worksheets at our school, and strive to make everything an authentic representation of our students' understanding. I use lots of foldables, craftivities, workstations, and writing to engage my sweet students.
HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
I was TWU Student Teacher of the Year when I graduated. But emails from parents and sweet notes from my littles are the awards that REALLY matter. :)
MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
I went to Texas Woman's University where I got an amazing education from some seriously knowledgable, passionate, and supportive professors.
