I have a total of 21 years teaching experience. After I received my M.Ed. from the University of Florida, I began teaching in elementary school, where I taught pull-out remedial classes for grades 2-5 and a section of K-1. Then I taught Pre-K for 5 years, before I decided to go up to Middle School, where I have been in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I am currently teaching 7th grade where I seem to have found my niche. I am certified in Elementary Education as well as in Middle Grades in the areas of Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I am also certified as a Teacher Support Specialist. I have an endorsement as a Reading Specialist K-12, and I also completed my Gifted and Talented Endorsement.
I try to make everyday an unforgettable day! I make every effort to appeal to a variety of learning styles, so that students can stay focused and engaged in learning. Children should walk away from my classroom with a love for reading and a hunger for learning something new everyday.

Although I have many students, I have two children of my own. My daughter is now 31, and engaged to be married. She is currently working as a chef at a fine restaurant in Seattle. My son is 30 and is currently working as a CNC programmer. I am enjoying being a grandmother of a sweet little boy. My husband and I love the outdoors, especially camping, fishing, and going to the springs or the beach. We have two dogs, a lab/chow mix and a border collie/daschund mix, who are both spoiled rotten.
