It is a good beginning - it needs to have parts of speech included if it is going to be a Mad Lib. Easily fixed (I just added what part of speech each missing word needed to be) and I will use it this week with my 3rd graders after we begin learning the poem. So thank you for your creativity!
I thought "mad-lib" implied using parts of speech. I was disappointed to see that it was just a fill in the blank. It's still good for creativity, but not as educationally relevant.
Mad Libs (from ad lib, a spontaneous improvisation) is a phrasal template word game where one player prompts another for a list of words to substitute for blanks in a story, usually with funny results.
You can add the prompts if you want to ("twas the night before Christmas and all through the ______ (location)" ) but I assumed the poem was so well-known this was unnecessary.
And hey, it's free. Merry Christmas.
