This looks spectacular, it will take "some work" on my part, but very little of gathering materials. It looks well worth it! I cannot wait to begin in Aug/Sept.
Could you please be a little more specific as to why you gave this such a low rating other than "ok" I cannot help fix what you did not like if I don't know the problem you had.
Our current textbook doesn't include geometry, but I don't have to worry now that I have this! The bonus of fractions and area is just that--an awesome bonus to an already great pack!

klc364 re: Morning Basket Work {August}
I'm confused is this for first grade or second grade? In the description it says they are based on first grade ccss, but then it says the first month is easy because they are new second graders.
The August packet is made really for either. They way I use it in my 2nd grade room is what is explained in description. Since August is the first month the kids are in school I haven't had time to teach them 2nd grade ccss, so this packet it based on 1st grade ccss to get them used to the way the morning work basket is designed. They should have already been taught 1st grade ccss so they should be able to complete the activities while getting a grasp on how the morning work routine will work the entire year. If you purchase the rest of the months or the bundle for the whole year the activities increase in difficulty and start being based on 2nd grade ccss. Hope that makes sense. If not, email me (secondgradeperks@gmail.com) and I will try to further explain the process.

JLefferd re: Morning Basket Work Bundle {August-May}
How long do you give your second graders to complete their morning work?
They usually have about 15/20 minutes each morning.

I ordered you OWL themed packet with numbers a couple weeks ago and wanted to see when I would get them? I wanted to hang them up by end of school year next week. THANKS!! E-mail me back at retwyman@jmcss.org
First of all, let me say that I am loving this! The games and activities are great. I do have one favor to ask though. Could you please make an instruction somewhere if the cards for an activity should be run front to back. I've had a couple of things I ran and laminated only to find out I should have done front to back. Thanks!
I am so glad you love the packet. Please let me know which pages you are referring to for more specific directions. I went back and looked at the packet and the pages I see that require back to back printing say it on the direction page (pages 205,215, 337) I do see the directions on page 316 and page 343 just say for students to check the answer on the back of the card and does not specifically say to print back to back. You will need to print the answers on the back of pages 318-329 and pages 344-347. If there is anything else that is unclear please message me back and I will get back with you ASAP! Thanks!

laurel005 re: Safari Adventure Animal Research
I love the safari research packet I bought. However, I did have one question. I wish that each animal had it's own research paper packet. For instance that if a child was researching monkeys then the whole research paper had little monkey pictures on each page. Right now it is a different african animal on each page. Or a research set that didn't have any animal on it would be okay too. They could add their own illustration.
If you go to your purchases page there are some instructions on what you can try. If this does not work email me and I will try to send it to you through email.

frinzetta boman (TpT Seller) re: Common Core Standards Math Measurement and Data
We are now studying measurements and data. I like your information but I do not care for the font. Is there anyway we can change the font to make it more friendlier?
It depends on the level of your group. You have a set of cards and they play as a team. One person on the team will pull a card and have to give the correct plural of the word they pull. If they get it right they get a point and it is the next team's turn. There are some cards that say Kaboom. If they pull one of these the team loses all the points they have and start over collecting points. My class loves it!

I looked more closely at the task cards too. I think some of them will work perfectly. Before you could respond to me, I began trying to make a word doc. However, it is nothing like yours. :) I emailed it to secondgradeperks@gmail.com. Hopefully it will give you a starting point...Thanks so much for your quick response and help.

laceyc re: Common Core Standards Math Measurement and Data
I bought it, but I see a comparision between two different units of measurements. That is more like standard 2.md.2. I am looking for an activity where they measure let's say the giraffe and the girl and have to figure out the diffence in lengths. I see a lot of questions that would work on the ladder game, but not an activity that could be more teacher led like the Measuring Madness. Am I right? Do you have anything like that?
I could use the picture cards in the packet you bought and make a sheet to go with that activity where they figure out the difference in lengths. Send me your email and I will work on it this weekend and send it to you if that is okay.

laceyc re: Common Core Standards Math Measurement and Data
Does this have any thing for 2.MD.4-Measure to determine how much longer one object is than another expressing the length difference in terms of a standard length unit? Thanks.
Yes, there are picture cards the students will estimate a measuremment for and then measure with a ruler using centimeters and inches. There is a comparing sheet that goes with the activity.

pwill re: 10 Month Editable Newsletter Templates
Heather, I love the newsletter templates but am not sure about how to edit them in powerpoint. Help! :)
When you download the product it should open in powerpoint. Then you can click wherever you want and change everything except the month and pictures. I just tried downloading it and changing some words and it let me. Let me know if it still doesn't work for you.

Thank you. If you ever feel the need to create something like this for kindergarten, I would buy it!!!

Joele Jones (TpT Seller) re: Morning Basket Work {January and February}
I just saw these activities on Bright Concepts 4 Teachers blog. I love love love this idea. Do you make or know of anyone who makes something like this for kindergarten and 1st?
First of all, I LOVE your packet! There were two mistakes that I found on the pre/post tests. On the Geometry test #5 should be an octagon but that isn't a choice. And #2 on the fractions pre/post test should be 2/3 but it isn't a choice. I wondered if you could fix those and send those to me. I am teaching the fraction portion now and use the assessments. Thank you for all the super fun ideas!
I tried to update the packet and it will not save it for some reason. Email me at secondgradeperks@gmail.com and I will send it to you that way. Sorry : )

tulipno5 re: Common Core For the Whole Year
Really quick, do you use this from front cover to back cover (the order it's printed?) Just trying to guage where to start. I've been using our districts math book and would like to switch to this now in January.
Thanks!
Oh no, you can start it wherever you are with your lessons. I would say that if you have already covered some of the standards with your district's book you could go back and use the activites in this packet to review those. It is not in any specific order so you can skip around as you need for your class. The way I did it was I printed it all out and laminted what needed to be laminated and divided it into categories to store it (I use labeled gift boxes to store) that way when I am covering say time I can pull that box out and all of the time materials are in there ready to go. Hope that helps (and makes sense).

I'm having trouble finding the template for the piggy bank craftivity in the file. What page is that on? If it is not included, where can I get it?
Oh my goodness, I have no idea where it is and how it got left out. I have sold so many of these in the last about 9 months and you are the first one that has found this mistake. When I get to my classroom tomorrow I will look for the template and scan it when I get home and update the file. I am so sorry about that.

Hi Heather. I purchased and downloaded the CommonCoreNumberandOperationsinBaseTen.pdf I can open and view it, but it won't let me download. It says no pages selected. I am familiar with Adobe Acrobat and have selected print ALL Pages - but still won't work. Can you help? Thanks
Lori Balzano
Are you referring to the Common Core math for the whole year bundle? If so, it depends on the game/activity. There is a mixture of horizontal and vertical problems for addition and subtraction.
I love you monster themed posters for Daily 5, I was wondering which font you used? I was hoping to make one that said "Read with Teacher". thanks so much :)
Check my free download out at this link and see if that is what you need. There are CAFE posters at first but the last ones are read to self, etc. If that is not what you are looking for let me know and I will whip something else up for you.
I just purchased your Common Core Geometry Unit. For some reason there are a bunch of black blocks and lines in the document. Is there something I need to download for your packet to show up appropriately? Or if you email it to me, would that fix things?
If you go to my purchases page and look at the top TPT has instructions on what to do if your product does not download right. You may need to download the newer version of adobe. It tells you how on that page though. If that does not work get back to me and I will email it to you.

Thank you so much. It worked and is now downloaded.:)
abz09 re: Common Core Standards Math Measurement and Data
I just downloaded Common Core Standards Math Measurement and Date and every time I download the file the "Number and Operations Base Ten" is downloaded not measurement. I actually bought all of the Common Core Standards in Math that you have, so I already have Number and Operations but I still don't have Measurement. Is there something I need to do to get the Measurement and Data?
I am so sorry. That is strange. I have worked on it forever now and finally got it to download the right one (I think). Try it again and if you don't mind let me know if it works for you this time.

Hi, I follow you here and pinned your contest. I'm new to the blog world and I can seem to post on your blog. what is the secret of getting a comment posted properly? Can you help with this. I sure like the centers you make and will be purchasing some.
Thank you,
Pat Wagle
If you go back to my blog http://secondgradeperks.blogspot.com/ and go to the bottom of the post. There is place that says comments right under my name. Just click on that and it will let you leave a comment. I think right now it says no comments because nobody has commented yet. If you can't find it just let me know. Glad you like my stuff!

Kaitlyn Marshall (TpT Seller) re: Starting Back to School Math and Literacy Centers
Hello! I just purchased Starting Back to School Math and Literacy Centers and I'm having trouble with the download. The numbers and words are not showing up on any of the cards. How can I fix this problem?
Go to your purchases page and TPT has some information above your purchases that tells you what to do if your file won't open right. There is a link to download the newest version of adobe. If that doesn't work let me know and I'll try something else.

c0gnitive re: Owl Themed Number Cards
I love your owl number cards but I was wondering if you could add numbers up to 30?
I have lost my original file for the number cards so I can't add to it, but if you purchase it and send me an email I will create 26-30 in another file and send it to you.
secondgradeperks@gmail.com
I also sell these in a set with number and days of the week cards. You can see the preview of the months here:

Hi Heather,
I love these labels! Thank you for sharing them with fellow teachers like me!! Quick question...did you design these to print on a certain Avery label? If so, can you tell me the label # so that I can print these.
Thank you again! I look forward to seeing your other items on TpT. :)
I actually just designed them on a power point slide and converted them to PDF. They aren't for a certain label. I just printed mine on regular paper and taped them on my containers. I guess I could have even laminated them. Just thought of that. Glad you like them!
