I just did away with the spelling from our series. However I did follow the spelling patterns that I was teaching that week. You could switch the weeks around so that it would coincide with when you are teaching certain skills. Does that make any sense?

I recently purchased the biography lapbook and had a question. The Venn Diagram is "fuzzy" in several places - not just in Preview, but also when printed. It is possible to use your eraser or some other tool to clean it up for others who purchase? Other than that, my students are loving the lapbook!

No the three colors are for the three rotations I use with daily five. I have six reading groups right now and sometimes have five. I meet with them every other day. They don't put their card and if they are having reading groups with me. This way they go to 10 stations during the week. I don't do stations on Friday or I let them choose their own. I'm referring to items in general. I'm hooked to TpT, and I just love your products. Right now, I'm looking for posters that describe fairy tales, fables, and folk tales as I will begin a unit in April. I decided to change my theme this year to jungle and zebra theme after years of having the apple theme. I'm collecting items, signs, posters, etc... I guess I hadn't really thought about Making themed items. Unfortunately the genre file is a very old one and I lost my original that I was working from. I only have a PDF file so I would have to remake the entire product. I teach second grade so I doubt I will have time to rework many of my files... At least anytime soon. Sorry about that! I am very fortunate with the number of books we have at our school. We have sets of books for all of the different guided reading levels. Before we got those though I bought the six packs that you can get on Scholastic. I even bought some on eBay! LOL! I usually just pick out books that are going to be around the kids' reading level. When I do book clubs with some of my lower second-graders...meaning level J, K (I don't usually do the book clubs with my very low readers) I get them something like horrible Harry To read. All of my kids have enjoyed the book the Littles. They get so totally into it! It really doesn't matter what books you use. I always pull several out and have the kids write down their first second and third choices. That way they can get a book that is at least on their list. I would ask your PTO to see if they would maybe purchase some books for you.

I love this pack now that I've been able to download it. I would like to know if it's possible for you to design another page for it, though. My district wants a very specific type of reading record form filled out on a daily basis. Would it be possible for you to dress it up and make it cute so that it goes along with the rest of this pack? I like the design of the Reading Rubric page, but need six columns (the first column would be for student names, the second for "Fluency on Independent Reading", third is "Vocabulary/High Frequency Words", fourth is "Phonics/Decoding", fifth is "Comprehension Skill", and sixth is "Strategies (Re-read to use Meaning, Structure, Visual Info.") and six rows for student names. At the bottom are two lines for "Notes". The title of the entire page is "Small Group Anecdotal Records" with a line for the "Date" to the right. Please let me know. Thank you!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching for 25 years. I have taught kindergarten and 1st grade...then began to loop with 2nd and 3rd graders. I absolutely loved looping! It was so exciting to watch the growth in those little buggers over a two year period....and talk about getting attached! Those little people, their families and I became very close. We stopped looping a few years ago when we changed principals. I'm trying to talk my new principal into letting me team teach with a friend....we just want to knock out one of the walls!
MY TEACHING STYLE
I am a very hands on and creative teacher who hates to have paper everywhere! I guess that's why I keep working to make items that can be used year after year. I teach with the Daily 5 method and do lots of writing with my kiddos. We really like to 'talk, draw, and write'... The kids LOVE to hear stories about my life...they especially like to hear about the dirt hill! I also teach 3rd grade math to our 2nd graders...these kids never cease to amaze me!
