The students loved this activity. Although there is outside preparation for students needed both before and after this activity, the students absolutely loved it and even asked for a second round, representing the opposite side (didn't happen). However, I had to modify the instructions but overall used everything included. Great job!!

The important concept it to reward the use of evidence, and take away points for disturbances, unproductive comments. This keeps them focused on the gathering of data to support what they want to say. It is quite dynamic when the groups get going. Also, give a bonus value (5 or 10 points) to groups that get full participation from their members.

I recommend giving a five point bonus to teams that have all members participate (to your standards of participation), that way everyone can avoid the "I hate public speaking" trap. Enjoy.

Just so you know the year of collected lessons has more than 160 lessons and extended activities, more than 500 pages of teacher notes, and lesson ideas, over 1000 selected primary source documents, songs, cartoons, graphics, photos, and video links, collected from more than twenty years of hunting for materials. I noticed that you asked for the same information regarding the world history curriculum and it is similar in size and depth as well. If you have any more specific questions, please ask.

I received my credential and Masters in Education from University of California At Santa Barbara.

The goal is to bring it all back to what they already know. A diverse arsenal of techniques and resources to stretch the mind and provide a stable platform for growing context for the world around them and for the past.
