I currently teach Kindergarten in the Utah public schools and have been teaching Kindergarten for 12 years. Previous to that, I taught pre-school for 18 years.
I use technology to integrate science and social studies standards to teach reading and math in interactive ways. Students learn best when information is relevant, interesting, and involves multiple senses.
I was elected to the Davis School District Teacher Hall of Fame. Additionally, I was the recipient of a $2500 Qwest Foundation Technology grant which I used to purchase iPod Touches for my students to support reading and math.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I have recieved an additional 30 hours of credit in technology and instruction courses.
I have worked on the writing team for the Davis School District math department, and have presented at math, language arts, and technology conferences. I am the mother of of six children and the grandmother of two.
