Just bought the vocab prezi. Had no clue what a prezi was, but WOW love the video clips built into it!!! Do you have any more? Also, see you have several things about the Holocaust. Do you have a unit for a book. I liked Night, but having problems finding books to buy for a class set. Might have better luck with Diary of Anne Frank? Going to teach 8th grade next year.

I have so much Anne Frank stuff it can be overwhelming - even to me, who made it! If you are doing the Holocaust, my favorite activity is my Ration Stamp Prezi/activity.

I've done this for about 8 years and it is a HUGE success every year - doesn't matter if I have the best class or classes who are tough. The activity is something they always remember. I found "Night" a little difficult for 8th graders (that is the grade I teach too.) It's pretty intense. I have access to the Play version of Anne Frank and The Diary. Sometimes I do the Play, sometimes I do The Diary and sometimes I do them as a compare and contrast. I have it all! Finding the time to post it is the problem.

I have these up all year and they act as gentle reminders I gave a set to a friend who is a guidance counselor, now that you ask I am surprised she didn't say anything! Hmm... that's pretty much all I do. I have a Mac. I make my Prezi, download using portable Prezi to my desk top as a zip file and then just upload it to TpT. Not sure why it isn't working for you but I would be interested in knowing how you solve it when you find out because if it is happening to you I am sure it will happen to me. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

There should be a Prezi - hmmm. Let me check I will get right back to you. I just used the Prezi at school last week. My students just finished this activity Wednesday, they really liked it. The Prezi has some cool videos in it explaining ration stamp even further. Give me a couple of minutes to check it out. (5 minutes later) I just checked it out and holy smoly ... the prezi is NOT there, thanks for the heads up... I will repost it hopefully I have it here at home, it may take me a few minutes. The Prezi is really cool.

I will take a picture as soon as I can. Since I don't have bulletin board space I had to use the front doors of a rollaway cabinet. It really does look cute....and it has gotten lots of comments. I put each of the pictures in a plastic sleeve to protect it as I didn't have access to a laminator.

It's a really cool presentation method - no special program needed. I have a free one in my TPT store that has to do with common core vocab. Down load that one so you can see an example (please leave a rating if you download it)
When you open the file click on the blue Prezi symbol - everything else can be ignored it's just data to make the Prezi run. You don't need the Prezi to do the activities it was just a bonus fun thing.
Did you get it to open? Unzip the folder, click on the unzipped folder, in the folder is a blue P, click on the blue P (the rest is just data to run it).
If you give me more information on how far you can get - I might be able to guide you from there.

Hi Amy the most likely answer is that you should download and open in "save" not preview. The files are PDF files and both PCs and Macs can open PDF files.
For the Prezi, the only file you should open is the one that is a little blue circle that says "Prezi" inside the folder. Everything else in the Prezi folder is data to make the Prezzi run.
That should help - let me know if after you. Try opening from save if you still have problems and I will see what we can do. I've sold quite a few of these and I am positive they work. Good luck

Besides the Pezi the other item is a PDF so you should be able to open it since a PDF is universal to most computers.
Make sure you save it to your desk top, do NOT open it in preview. If it still doesn't open you should probably contact tech support for more information since it opens on our PCs.
I wish I had more information for you but since it works for us I don't know what the problem could be.

This past year I used this product with my 8th graders. The students enjoyed it. Because we all go over rules and procedures I think it is appropriate for any grade. The scavenger hunt basically gets students up and moving around the room to find the answers.
This past year my principal came in while my class was using it and he wrote a nice note saying that it was an excellent way to start the school year.
I plan to use the scavenger hunt with my 8th graders again this year so the product is a "finished" item for me. I will not be revising it for myself. I would be interested in knowing if you felt you could use it “as is” or if you felt the need to modify the cards.

All of the Prezis that I have do have youtube links within them. However, if you buy the whole unit I give you access to them online so you can always remove the youtube links or change the youtube to embedded videos (I used to do that but they were too big to upload to TPT :()
My school used to block youtube for everyone but when I emailed the IT guys a few of my prezis to show them why I needed it they gave me access. Maybe your school would allow that too?
Hard copy means that I mail you everything that I have on a Flash drive within two days of buying it online. (I am shipping priority now so they come fairly quickly too!)

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching 22 years. I have been a middle school teacher for 15 years. Love middle school kids! I have always worked as a Reading Specialist. I am certified in Reading, Elementary Education, Social Studies and I have a Supervisory certification.

Fostering creativity and critical thinking in the classroom. Helping students to think beyond the classroom and see the big world that awaits them. I believe we need to prepare students for the world they will live in, not just the standardized tests.

I get a real "kick" out of making sales on TpT and consider each and every sale an honor. I've presented both reading and gifted conferences. The real awards and honors come from working with students and seeing them grow.
