I purchased foldables for sequences and series for the year ending 2013. I purchased these this year. I was pleasantly surprised that when we did our end of year review for the sequences and series, the majority of students brought out their foldables from last year. I anticipate that these will be just as successful.

I have purchased a few of Jean's units and became convinced that spending this amount of money on the entire curriculum was totally worth it. The notes are engaging, my students LOVE all of the activities, and everything is thorough yet easy to understand. Not to mention the number of hours I have saved trying to create something myself, which I am sure would not be as wonderful. I would HIGHLY recommend this product, or at least trying some of the other materials from this seller. Absolutely amazing!!

I really liked this activity. Even without a phase shift, it is challenging for students to match the graphs, equations, and descriptions. Jean Adams (TpT Seller)

Tyne, Just so you know, it is possible to use SmartBoard technology through the Internet at the Smart Notebook Express (www.express.smartech.com/) where you can create, open, and interact with SmartBoard Presentations without owning an interactive white board. You can also use an IPAD or other tablet device with a free reader and write on the slides using Splashtop. There are many ways to enhance your student's experience in class without having a Smartboard.

Hello, I am interested in purchasing your Polynomial lesson bundle, I just wanted to make sure there were foldables with the bundle, as it says smart notes, foldables and activities. This may sound silly, but just wanted to make sure they are the same foldables that are in the "just foldable" packet. Thanks

Jean Adams (TpT Seller)

Yes, absolutely. the unit bundle contains everything. Foldables, smartboard lesson, games, activities, quizzes, test and reviews includes keys .Enjoy!

Kelly G. re: Lesson 2: Angles and the Unit Circle

Help!! When I download, I am only getting 4 pages: cover page, "Flamingo Math" page, and 2 pages of foldables. Unless I am doing something wrong, I do not have the directions for the foldables, the answer key, or the smart notebook lesson???

Jean Adams (TpT Seller)

Kelly,

That sounds like you are looking at the preview document only. Each section is an independent *.PDF file. The Foldable, the Final lesson answers, the SmartBoard File, and the directions to build the foldable, along with the preview document should be in a compressed of *.ZIP file. I will upload them again. If the problem still occurs, please start a tech ticket with T-P-T. Everything looks correct on my side. Thanks,

Kelli S. re: Unit 10: Conic Sections (Bundled)

Is this unit aligned to the Common Core?

Jean Adams (TpT Seller)

Kelli,

According the the Common Core Standards website,

"The high school portion of the Standards for Mathematical Content specifies the mathematics all students should study for college and career readiness. These standards do not mandate the sequence of high school courses. However, the organization of high school courses is a critical component to implementation of the standards. To that end, sample high school pathways for mathematics – in both a traditional course sequence (Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II) as well as an integrated course sequence (Mathematics 1, Mathematics 2, Mathematics 3) – will be made available shortly after the release of the final Common Core State Standards. It is expected that additional model pathways based on these standards will become available as well."

So, I would answer "maybe" to your question. I can say that all of my lessons are aligned to the Mathematical Standards for the State of Florida and the Pearson textbook from which I teach. At the moment, the CCSS have not been finalized for upper level courses leading to post-secondary work. I will say that my products are rigorous, challenging, and comprehensive for future work.

Hope this helps you. Thanks for asking.

Are your whiteboard activities compatible with ActivInspire (we us Promethean boards)?

Thanks.

Thanks.

Jean Adams (TpT Seller)

I have opened and demonstrated my files at a local school with Promeathean boards several years ago. They worked fine then. I believe the only compatibility issues are when Smart files have activities from the lesson activity toolkit. These Flash games just stall out when loaded. My products are simply notes, graphs, and equations. You should have no problems.

Debby F.

Hi again...i downloaded the updated Logarithmic quiz/test bundle, but when I unzipped it the files were all rational function files. You're definitely working too hard =). Thanks so much for the quick response. This did, however, turn into a bonus for me, as I found out you have a quiz bundle for the rational unit which I promptly purchased! Thanks again!

Debby F.

With all the wonderful resources you have already posted on this site, I should feel bad for making a request but I am anyway. Do you have anything for the Probability/Statistics chapter in the Prentice Hall Algebra 2 textbook? I searched your catalog but couldn't find anything. My only excuse for this much laziness is that I'm neck-deep in studying for the actuarial exam.

Common Core Secondary Math (TpT Seller) re: Unit 9: Sequences and Series (Bundled)

Hello, last year I purchased the foldables only bundle for the sequences and series unit. Do you have a completion bundle that has the review/quiz/test plus the station activity and the fan/pick activity?

Jean Adams (TpT Seller)

Hey Julie, I was just thinking about you last week. I've spent the whole year working on my Algebra 2 curriculum. Yes, I have a Review, Quiz, Practice, Test Bundle here http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Sequences-and-Series-Review-Quiz-Practice-Test-Bundle-711906

It has a daily quiz for each section, all the activities, two forms of a unit test and review things. It's on sale this weekend.

I plan to upgrade all my Calculus store during the summer. Had to let that slide this year, too much to do. Hope your year is going great.

Timothy Tucker II (TpT Seller) re: Free Pi Day Activities and Poster

Can we get an answer key please?

Jean Adams (TpT Seller)

At the moment, the only way to get an answer key is to work through the activity using the Internet. I was given these activities at a math fair several years ago and have moved from that district. I'm using them Friday myself, just so I can make a key. It will be after the PI Day Celebration before I can post them for you.

Jessica H.

Hi there! I was wondering if there is any possibility to get any of your lessons if we do not have access to a smartboard? I am specifically interested in the pre-calculus lessons.

Thank you!

Jessica Heuer

Thank you!

Jessica Heuer

Jean Adams (TpT Seller)

Yes, each of my Pre-Calculus units can be purchased as a bundled set of FOLDABLES only. This includes ab eight-page bound book style foldable for students to use as a set of pre-made guided notes. The final lesson and all the work is included in the product. You can present the lesson by any method you choose.

If you are interested in separate lessons and not the bundled units, please let me know which topics. I'll work on creating those separately for you.

I personally use a wireless slate as my tool of presentation since I don't have a SmartBoard myself. If you own any tablet, you can download the Smart App from your APP store if you are interested in the SmartBoard files. Smart Express from Smart Technologies also allows you to open, interact with, and create SmartBoard files from any place where you have Internet access.

I asked the previous question prematurely. I did figure the foldable out. However as I was going through the foldables I noticed that some of the material is a bit advanced for my eighth grade students. I am covering this material in my algebra 1 class because it is in the new CCCS, but some of the topics are not necessary. Would you be willing to send me the foldables in Word format so that I can edit them for my students? Thank you so much. I do love the foldables and believe that they will be invaluable to my students.

Jean Adams (TpT Seller)

Got your email. (One note, you can send me an email through the TPT message system I believe so it isn't public.) I've taken it off the Q & A page. I'll be in contact with you.

Mary K.

Good morning. Very sorry to have to ask this question. Last night I purchased your foldables, but even after reading the directions I cannot figure out how to make the book. I tried to print the pages individually and double-sided. What am I doing wrong? I just do not understand how to put the book together. Thank you so much for any help you can provide.

Buyer

Hello. Last night I purchased a year of foldables for Alg. 2--I must have been carried away with the sale and purchased this thinking I was getting review/quizzes/tests and such. Do you have such a year product containing this kind of work? I made a huge mistake and hoping I can, maybe, trade in my purchase for something else (is that possible?). I really wish I'd waited.

I do not have the full year of Alg 2 products finished yet. I have each chapter bundled with quizzes, tests, and review activities. These include foldables

too.. I have three more bundles to

description is complete. When

Buyer re: Unit 10: Conic Sections SMARTNOTES ONLY

Does the smart notebook require a special program to open it? Also, do you use this set and the foldables together?

Hi Jean, any way you can provide an option to purchase a Bundled Unit for Alg. 2 Unit 7Exponential and Logarithmic Functions? I looked and can't find the option. Thanks!

Jean Adams (TpT Seller)

Yes. I just finished uploading my bundle for Unit 7 on Logarithms and Exponential Functions. I appreciate you shopping my store. Thanks!

Stacy Spencer (TpT Seller)

Ms. Adams,

If I purchase your notes, would it be okay if I used them in my videos that I make for my students?

I purchased the Algebra 2 foldables for the year. My download is missing the foldable for 1-4. Could you send it to me? chadley@culpeperschools.org

Thanks so much,

Do the powerpoints only work for smartboard?

Jean Adams (TpT Seller)

The lessons for teacher presentations are made with Smart Notebook 11 software. They can be used with a Smartboard or with a wireless slate (remote desktop) through a document camera or with an IPAD using Splashtop or similar software.

Bought your ALgebra2 foldables - love it - there was no foldable for 1.4 unit - I was wondering if I didn't get it when I download or was there not one. Thanks.

P.S. Loved your session in Orlando at the conference.

Thanks Julie Partain

Thanks Julie, I forgot to include that foldable. I've uploaded the corrected file now. Glad you enjoyed my session.

Kari Hasz (TpT Seller) re: ALGEBRA 2: A Year of Foldables

I thought that the smart board notebook files were included in this, not just the pdfs of the teacher's notes. Are these available?

Jean Adams (TpT Seller)

Kari,

I'm sorry that you assumed the Smart Board Files were part of the Year of Foldables package. I've read through my description again to make sure that I had not indicated such. There are about 75 lessons in the year long bundle. I separated the FOLDABLES ONLY set for the year to help teachers in my local district, since we have no textbooks for our students this year. If the Smart Note files for the year were included the set would cost $375 if sold separately. I have created a set for the year that includes both items, if you are interested. Simply ask for a refund from T-P-T and purchase the new set. I'm offering the complete year for a discounted price of $295. This would be an $80 savings. You can find the product at

Hi Jean, I am working on my lesson plans for next week (attempting to get organized before school starts :)) and I noticed what might be an error in Example #2 for Solving Polynomial Equations (Polynomial Functions Unit Bundle - Foldables only). I think the answers should be x=2, -2, 2i and -2i. I could be wrong, but just thought I would check with you.

Hi Jean - I was using the Algebra Linear Systems Review Quiz Test Packet

The file labeled as answers for 3-3 (Solving Systems of Linear Inequalities) is actually the answers for 3-4.

When you get a chance could you update?

Thanks!

Pam Nachtman (TpT Seller) re: Unit 4: Quadratic Functions & Equations (Bundled)

How do you put the foldable together?

Jean Adams (TpT Seller)

There is a detailed set of instructions included in the bundle with pictures for putting the foldable together after it is copied. This is called the bound book style foldable. Please let me know if you have difficulty with the assembly.

Hi Jean,

Your graphs, especially your parabolas always look so nice. Would you mind sharing what program you use to make your graphs? Keep creating, because I love your stuff!

Thanks!

I use WINPLOT.exe. It's a free graphing utility from the site http://math.exeter.edu/rparris/winplot.html It's pretty easy to learn and there is a great community of help available. Thanks so much for your positive feedback. I love making great activities that spark both teacher and students alike.

Pam Nachtman (TpT Seller) re: Lesson 2: Standard Form of a Quadratic Function

Is there a bundle with all of the nine lessons together?

Jean Adams (TpT Seller)

Yes, I have the entire unit 4 bundled including assessments for $45.00. This is about half the price if purchased all together.

Betty Clark (TpT Seller)

I do not have access to any smartboard technology. I tried to download the free from their site just so I could open files to no avail. Do I have to have smartboard to look at your smartboard items? I want to buy while the sale is going on, but am hesitant if I cannot look at my purchases.

Thanks,

Betty

Thanks,

Betty

Jean Adams (TpT Seller)

Betty, My preview items are Adobe *.PDF files. It's not necessary to own a smartboard to view the products. I use Smart Notebook 11 software to create my SmartBoard lessons.

When I'm teaching my students, I use a wireless slate "tablet." This allows me the freedom to move about my room. If you download the Smart Notebook 11 software, you are allowed a 30-day free-trial period to use their technology. Some teachers use my SmartBoard Lessons with their IPAD and the Smartboard APP that is available from the I-Tunes store.

If you don't plan to teach with technology, you can purchase a bundled set of FOLDABLES ONLY. There are times when I just use the Foldable document as I teach. I write directly onto the Foldable under my document camera. So, if you are looking for something that gives a guided approach to note-taking for your students, you might want to try one of my bundled sets of Foldables only.

My single (stand alone) lessons are sold with a Foldable for the student, a SmartBoard Lesson that follows the Foldable, for the teacher, and an answer key of the completed lesson.

If you don't have access to Smartboards or some type of wireless device, you might want to shop my bundled sets as the best approach for your needs.

Thanks for your comments and interest in my materials.

Hello, I just purchased your Calculus full year bundle. I am excited to start using the lessons. Is it possible to get Word versions of the student notes since I don't use the same book and the lesson numbers do not match our book?

Thanks!

Whenever I see a unit designed for smartboards I tend to back off because I don't have access to one- Is the material still usable/valuable even if we don't have access to a smartboard. Many of your products interest me and I am pretty sure that I have bought a few individual things but anything with smartboard attached to the description I generally avoid.

Thanks

Thanks

Jean Adams (TpT Seller)

I actually don't have a SmartBoard in my classroom anymore. I make my Foldables (Alg 2 and PreCalculus) and my Student Notes (Calculus) with Microsoft Word. I use Smart Notebook 11 software to duplicate those documents. Then, when I teach the lesson I use a Smart Wireless Slate. Some of my colleagues use IPAD's and a Smart Notebook App that they purchased through I-Tunes. This frees me to move about the classroom. I've also used just the PDF pages under a document camera to write on them as I teach. There are several other slates by different manufacturer's available that will also work with Smart Products. You could check with your school IT Techs about them.

I have bundled every unit I teach as "FOLDABLES ONLY" for teachers that don't want to purchase the technology side. Then, I also sell just the "SMART NOTES ONLY" for teachers that don't like using Foldables. I also have the entire unit bundled with Foldables and Smart Board files for a discounted price.

Maybe I should consider selling individual lessons of just Foldables? Now that is an idea I haven't thought about yet.

Hi Jean,

The foldable for rational graphs was great! I was wondering what topics are included in your Algebra 2 year of foldables bundle?

Thank you,

Connie

The bundled set covers the entire Alg 2 curriculum for the Pearson/Prentice Hall Algebra 2 Honors Gold Series/Florida Edition text book.I believe there are about 73 individual lessons for the year. It is a comprehensive set of lessons for Alg 2.

Penelope S.

Is there an Alg2 bundled unit for polynomial functions (Unit 5) as you have for Units 1-4?

Jean Adams (TpT Seller)

I'm working on that this week. Hope to be finished by Thanksgiving Day. Glad you noticed.
