I have been teaching for four years. I spent my first two years in kindergarten, and absolutely adored those little minds! For the last two years, I have worked with 5th graders. I have to say, I love their minds too! Moving from Kindergarten to 5th grade was a HUGE jump, but it taught me something very important; kids are kids no matter how old they are who simply need patience, love, and understanding.
My teaching style is a mix of traditional teaching and student centered-learning. I like to present the material to the whole group and then we break into small groups in order to investigate and work on individual student levels.

After working in the business world for 8 years with a BS in Organizational Management, I finally went after my real dream of becoming a teacher. I went back to college as a married mother of two when I was 29 years old to obtain my elementary education degree at Athens State University in Athens, AL. I hope that my experience will teach my own children and my students that getting an education early in life is important, however, it is never too late to chase your dreams.
I have been married for 16 years and have two marvelous boys; ages 13 and 10.
