The only thing that would make this better is if it was available in a Word document in addition to the PDF. For my lower 8th grade students, some of the questions were too difficult but I didn't have the ability to remove them from the quiz.

This would be better if accompanied with the teaching guides and lesson activities. Many of the questions were obivously from teacher lectures and not just text based. I had to omit many questions to use with my AP students.

Ok so...
T stands for "transition phrase" (For example, In addition, Furthermore, Moreover, etc.)
L stands for "lead-in" (who spoke the quote if it's dialogue and/or when the quote was used if it's narrative)
Q stands for "quote" (it's the actual text the student uses to back up their topic sentence and transitively their thesis)
The T,L,Q is one complete sentence.
For example, after the windmill was destroyed, Boxer resolved, "I will work harder" (40).
One Concrete Detail (CD) is composed of a TLQ.
Commentaries (CM) are the students words/thoughts/ideas that essentially argue how the CD proves the thesis or topic sentence.

Mr. Johnson, I have been unable to print your graphic organizer "Close Reading Poetry Chart" for The Raven. I have tried multiple times, from different computers. The only thing that will print is the title page and the page with your site to check out more. On my final attempt, the final page of the organizer finally printed, where it speaks of Imagery. Do you have any suggestions as to how I may rectify this issue? Thank you

I just purchased the Common Core Standards. I am extremely disappointed. I was in a hurry which is the only reason I use Teachers Paying Teachers. I needed something different for my Lit class. After 2 hours of trying to print it...having to download a new version of Adobe Reader, etc. It will still not print. It has only ever printed 3 pages, one of which is the cover 'advertise me' page. I did not leave comments because I do not think that would be nice, but I am giving up on this. I cannot pay Adobe to convert this file. I would like to have printed this for class tomorrow.

I use an iPad app called Doceri. It allows me to mirror anything that is on my desktop and annotate it. It is a very useful application. The iPad app itself is free and the desktop plugin is around $30. It took me a while to make the "leap" and buy the desktop plugin but it was well worth it.

The Test / Quiz is not included in the bundle. It is an older file that deals mostly with comprehension. I do not have an updated Test / Quiz that works as a companion to the 10 quizzes in the bundle. However, I do give the quizzes after each chapter and then reuse the questions at the end of the unit as a question bank for the final. Just an idea.
