brennessy re: Exponents and Exponential Functions
Are there directions for "Around the World" and "Comparing Banks"? Thanks
March 6, 2013
Jen Brown  (TpT Seller)
Good evening! Sorry about that- here are the directions for each:

Around the world: Cut each page along the solid line. Hang the pages in random order around the room. (Sometimes I let first period kiddos hang a page where they wanted to around the room and they thought it was fun to put them in weird places!). Then kids would start at any page they wanted. They work out the problem on the top and then find their answer on another page around the room. They then work the problem on the top of the new page they just found and continue until they make it back to where they started. If they don't find their answer then they know they made a mistake.

Comparing Banks: I hung each 'bank' page around the room. (If you have a big class, hang 2 or 3 copies of each bank so the students aren't crowded around one page). Then students walk to each bank and use their worksheet as place to calculate which bank will give them the most money with their raffle winnings.

Hope that helps! Have a great night!

Shelly Bloom  (TpT Seller) re: Systems of Linear Equations Activity - Clue Game
Can you upload as a PDF or email me what each equation is supposed to be? The project looks awesome but it didn't open correctly on my computer...the equations have strange symbols.

Thanks!

Algebra4All  (TpT Seller) re: Math Models Activities
Are these paper and pencil activities or are they lab style activities where students build and record?
October 26, 2012
Jen Brown  (TpT Seller)
Hi! Thanks for stopping by! This set of activities has a little of both. Some are lab style that have the students take measurements or gather data. Some are activities that the data is given to them and they build the table, equation, and extrapolate info. One or two are games, there is a small activity using the internet, two use CBLs, etc. None are plain worksheets that are just a bunch of practice problems. Hope that helps! If you have any other questions, let me know. Have a great night!

Leslie Mohlman  (TpT Seller) re: Exponents and Exponential Functions
Could you tell me what activities are included in this packet? I'm looking for an exponential decay activity that's not with M&Ms or pennies. Thanks!
October 6, 2012
Jen Brown  (TpT Seller)
Hi Leslie!

I have an exponential decay with CBL's in my listings (not sure if you have those in your classroom): http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Exponential-Cooling-Lab-with-CBL

I have another exponential decay activity with bouncing basketballs but I don't have it in my shop. I can email it to you if you want (assuming I can find it on my flash drive!). I used it in my class and loved it, but it is an extension of a textbook activity which is why I don't sell it. What is your email address?

The only other activity in the packet is the M&M's so you may not want to purchase this set if you are looking for a decay activity. :)

Drvcj re: Systems of Linear Equations Activity - Clue Game
I downloaded this activity but I do NOT see the files which are shown in the sample. There are only two files in the zip drive. A student answer sheet and a computerized input sheet written in calculator code. This is not what was shown in the preview. Please explain before I leave my review. Where is the game information? please use vcj913@gmai.com - Thank you for your immediate feedback. I do not know what happened:(

Good morning! That is odd- you are the first person to have this problem! I am about to run out the door for a couple hours but I will find the files and email them to you later today or tonight. What is the best email address to get them to you? Thanks!

Julie Larsen re: Algebra II Files Bundle
Two questions.

1. Does this overlap with your other Algebra model sampler (8 ish dollars, I think)?

2. If you need to post as a PDF (as someone asked in a previous question), cutepdf.com is a great free program. You simply select cutepdf as the printer and save the document.
March 18, 2012
Jen Brown  (TpT Seller)
Good evening! Thanks for your questions! There is very little overlap with the two items. I did a quick comparison and there are only about 2 files that overlap. There are more items in the Alg II files compared to the Algebra sampler. Thanks for the tip on cutepdf- I will have to check it out! Have a great night!

tutorspree re: Algebra II Files Bundle
Hi Jen – Really love the materials you uploaded – especially all the worksheets in this Algebra II files bundle.

I'm one of the founders of Tutorspree, a marketplace for local tutoring designed to help amazing tutors find amazing students. Our tutors keep asking for materials to bring with them to lessons, and for problem sets to give students between lessons.

Looking at what you’ve already created, it feels like you have exactly what we want to give them. Would you be interested in letting us post your content so that the world knows how great it is? We'll take care of making it look great on the web and all, and we’ll let everyone who sees it know who made it. Once they’re hooked we can send them right back to TeachersPayTeachers to buy a nice downloadable version.

Please let me know, and let me know if you want to chat further on the phone.

Thanks so much, and hope you're having a great week.

Scipi  (TpT Seller) re: Partner Building Questions
I saw your store on the home page of Teachers Pay Teachers; so, I thought I would look at your freebie. I left you a rating. Well done ! I have a couple of suggestions that might help to better market this product. First, skip lines between the questions as the text can be overwhelming. Even add some clipart to break up the text. Also, create a cover page which can then be used as an attractive thumbnail to entice buyers. You might also add a second page which is a directions or suggestion page. List several ways you use these questions. Never assume that a buyer knows how, why, or when to use your product.

I hope you will have time to rate one of my freebies listed below.

I am now your 19th follower, and hope you will reciprocate at my store as well. http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/SciPi/Products

The teaching world needs quality math materials; so, good luck as you sell on TPT!

Thanks. I would be happy to create a link. Thanks for your response. I am currently building a website/online school. The address is www.universalhomeschool.com/custom. It will not be live for another 6 – 8 months because there is so much work to be done. I am currently trying to build up material including videos, lessons, worksheets, presentations and more. A lot of this material is being created by myself. I hope that the site will be successful in providing students with a vast resource of information that will help them become more successful. Any material that I use that was not created by myself I will make sure credit has been given to the author. Let me know what you think, if you don’t mind me using your work, either way is fine. If you have any suggestions for me I would also appreciate that. Thanks for taking the time.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching high school math for eight years. I have taught Algebra I, Algebra II, and Math Models.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I use lots of cooperative learning, activites, and games in my class. Most of my class is student centered and I try to limit the amount of direct instruction or lecture.
