Hi Jenna,
I just bought the "In Your Shoes" game and the writing is not showing up on all the shoes when printed. Wondering if you can put the writing in black. Otherwise, it is an awesome game to use with mu families that I work with.

I there. The download includes both white writing and black writing. The black writing is available on pages 23-44. Those contain the same pages only in a more traditional font for printers that have difficulty. Thanks

Hey Jenna, I just stumbled onto your blog and your store on here. I'm a 3rd year pediatric SLP and I'd love to start making my own materials and possibly selling them on here. What kind of program/equipment do you use for your materials?? Where do you get all of your books from because I need to start collecting! Any suggestions/tips on starting out??

Hi Jenna
I bought the Carrotville Game for a special needs student (in grade three) and would like more parts of speech cards. What I really need is cards about adjectives and adverbs. Do you have anything like this at all? The young man I teach loved the game!

I have purchased many of your materials and LOVE them all. Keep up the good work! I have noticed a very small mistake on your new product, There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick. On the Granny Collector page, your instructions tell the kids to Roll the heart dice to determine how many to color.

IsabelCM re: If You Give A Mouse A Cookie: Preschool Speech & Language Book Companion
Hi Jenna,

Thank you for this super cute packet! I'm in the process of laminating it now to use this week. :) I have a couple of questions for you.

1 - How are pages 24-25 intended to be used? Are the photos cut out and the kids put them in order?

2 - The symbols in the packet are different from what I've seen before. I know my kiddos are not used to these symbols either. Where did they come from? Are they from graphics that you purchased or from a symbol generator similar to Boardmaker?

3 - I'm having a hard time identifying some of the actions on pages 27-32. Do you have a key so that I'm eliciting the correct target? Some of them seem to require several words to get the action across. Is that correct?

Thank you for your help! Hope to hear from you soon as I plan on using these on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Thanks again!

Best regards,
Isabel Martinez

Jenna Rayburn  (TpT Seller)
Hi Isabel,

First, Thanks so much for purchasing this product! I hope you'll find it a great supplement to your other speech and language materials!

1. The activity directions are included on the front page:

Pages 20-25: Pronoun Cookies: Cut out all cookies and place on the large cookie jar. Read the poem and
pull one card. off the jar. Match the cookie type to the owner of the cookie. For example: If you draw a
star cookie it belongs to Mrs. Puppy. Create a sentence for the item on the cookie: “She has an umbrella”.
or “This is her umbrella” Use the included sentence strips as visual aids.

SO I use 24-25 at sentence strip visuals to help with the pronoun sorting activity. I cut out the cookies and sort them into the jars and the kids need to say that in a sentence, "This is his umbrella." I keep those sentence strip whole and use them as reference.

2. The symbols are from Smarty Ears. As you can assume, there are pretty strict rules about using Boardmaker symbols. I have a contract with Smarty Ears to use their Smarty Symbols. I don't have expressed written permission from MJ to use Boardmaker. You could of course quickly re-make the sentence strips to match if your students can't learn to use the SE symbols.

2. If you tell me which symbols I can tell you, but I don't have a key generated at this time. I use them really differently depending on the student, but usually I have them create a sentence. "The boy is flying." or "The boy is juggling". Of course you can target other verb forms as well!

I hope you'll enjoy the packet!

Thanks for adding the Billy Goats to your "to do" list. I was going to request the story.Would you also consider doing a packet for The House for Hermit Crab? I love the activities that you have created-especially the question cards. My kids loved them and it made it easier for them to start asking each other questions. They loved the Mitten and the 3 Little Pigs. Next week will be Goldilocks!

Snappdragon re: Whack A Sound /S/ { FREEBIE}: Self Checking Articulation Game
Hi Jenna,
I just wanted to leave a feedback regarding this game but I don't want to give it a negative rating because I think it's super cute! Just some notes: "Circus" has /s/ sound in the beginning and end of the word, so my students will be confused with that one. Also, "Texas" technically has an /s/ sound in the medial position due to the x (/ks/), and final position. I personally won't be using those two cards for those reasons.

Also, just for improvement of understanding, I think the students would understand the concept of beginning / middle / end consonant sounds if the words were all CVCVC format when targeting the medial position (my Kindergarteners want to tap out the syllables on the stars as they try to figure out where the /s/ sound is.... so they are getting confused. For example, when trying to figure out where the /s/ is in dinosaur - they end up on the last star for the last syllable).

Blends in the medial position are also confusing: /sk/ in basket, /ps/ in popsicle, /ns/ in pencil, etc. It would just be much clearer for my younger students if it were CVCVC when targeting medial position identification.

Thanks for listening! I do love the game and the concept of it!

Hi there! THanks for the feedback. I am updating the file so you can re-download with the removal of the reduplicated /s/. Thanks for the feedback about CVCVC. I can see how the kiddos would want to tap out syllables as they do so much of that in their class. I usually start with only including initial and final and talk about listening for those sounds.

Thanks again for sending those thoughts! It helps so much to get feedback!

Blends in the medial position are also confusing: /sk/ in basket, /ps/ in popsicle, /ns/ in pencil, etc. It would just be much clearer for my younger students if it were CVCVC when targeting medial position identification.

Thanks for listening! I do love the game and the concept of it!

Hi Jenna,
I just wanted to leave a feedback regarding this game but I don't want to give it a negative rating because I think it's super cute!

Hello,
I would like to purchase multiple licenses of this product for an in-service I am providing. I am not sure how the multiple licenses will work. Will I still download one copy of the file but then I am permitted to share it with the participants that I purchased a license for?
Thank you

Hi there! Yes If you purchase multiple licenses you will get the one file, but you will have permission to distribute it to the given #. Hope that helps! Thanks!

I did notice that one of the comprehension cards "What did she swallow after the basket?" The picture cue doesn't show the bow. I wouldn't care but many of my students need the picture cue. Any way you could fix that one card? Thanks, love your materials! -Kara

Hi Jenna, I have enjoyed using a variety of your activities with the children on my caseload, especially your activities for all the Old lady who swallowed ..... I want to contrast these stories by Lucille Colandro with another similar story -- There was an old monkey who swallowed a frog by Jennifer Ward. Would you consider making up materials for such an activity? Donna Psutka

where did you obtain your graphics? I bought the WH questions pack but didn't see the graphics designer on your materials. I'd love to know where you found these. SMC

I am loading some of your items in my cart! I teach Special Ed and am going to use them in the resource room. Do you use adobe to make these? They are all very good. I haven't learned adobe yet and am assessing the value of teaching it to myself. Let me know and THANKS for your hard work. These definitely took a lot of time. :)

Hi Jenna! First off, just want to say that I love your stuff! I just got my hands on Cranium Cariboo, and, if I remember correctly, you had a set of artic cards for it. I can't seem to find them though... Where are they? Or did I just make up that you had them made?

I printed this a few months ago but was so excited to use it I didn't laminate it. Now the cards are in rough shape. I tried to print it from my computer and I wouldn't work. I tried to download it again and it will not let me print. Any suggestions?

I have no idea! Hmm. Did you re-download it from My Purchases? TpT often has you update adobe reader so that PDF can be read. If that doesn't work you can email the TpT help desk for further assistance.

Hi Jenna! thank you for all your WONDERFUL materials. i have been using your Sheep in a Jeep packet with some of my groups. they LOVE it! i was wondering if it would be possible for you to change the sound sorting mat. instead of using "tree" for the /t/ picture can you put something else? in NY we pronounce "tree" with more of a "ch" at the beginning.
also, do you think you will be making materials to go with the other sheep books (e.g. sheep on a ship?) possibly a compare/contrast for the books?
thanks again for all your hard work! your creativity is greatly appreciated :)

Hi There! Thanks for the great feedback! I didn't think about 'tree' having a dialectal difference! I have plans to make edits in the spring so keep an eye out for changes. I don't have plans for another Sheep in the Jeep books in the immediate future, but I would like to make them eventually!

Hi Jenna,

We have a large speech department at our ISD, and an extensive library of materials that we can check out as needed. If we would like to put together your literature based units for our SLPs to borrow, how would we handle that with your licensing? We would be making one kit to share.

Your products are wonderful.

Thank you.
