meatballs re: Sight Word Readers Sample Pack
Hi Jennifer,
It was a nice surprise to find your sight word readers! I teach a preK class and I am looking for some sight word readers that begin with the most basic and easiest of sight words. I have had no luck yet although I love the book A! because it will introduce my little ones to a very simple word with rebus pictures and spelling. It will also allow me to introduce the concept of reading from left to right and familiarize them with punctuation and the operations of reading itself. I have a request. Would it be possible to make some simple sight word readers similar to A! using the words is, in, the, and, go, he, I, it, not, on, she, we, will, you, and to.
I would also be interested in some pocket chart word cards (as listed above) and some rebus pictures for the pocket chart as well. Some of the rebus pictures I would like would include some people places and things such as a boy, girl, cat, dog, horse, bear, elephant, monkey, car, pool, bicycle, letter, barn, helicopter, mailbox, school, house, car, zoo, wagon. These pocket chart words and rebus pictures would allow me to build some sentences for circle time reading. Right now I start with a simple sentence such as "(child's name) is (happy face rebus)". I would like to work up to - "A horse is in the barn" or "A bear is in a helicopter!". I am so hoping that you could help me out!
Thanks,
Debbie Pacetti
