Hi, I do have an owl color match. It is a little different than the bird color match, but it is actually one of my favorite projects. The owl product consists of little nests and the kids can place the owls in the appropriate color nest. The owls come in a few different sizes so the product provides many opportunities to explore early math concepts. Here is the link for the product http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Owl-Color-Match-Activity-275038 Thanks for your inquiry! -Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
I bought your Turkey time last November and when I printed it out, several pages didn't print. Thinking it was user error, I decided to wait until I had time to figure out what I did. Well, I'm just now finding time after the school year is out (!!) and after retrying to print, those pages still are printing blank. Do you have any suggestions for me? Thanks! I'm missing pages 6,7, 12, 20, and 21. They show up on the dl, but when I print, they are blank.

Hi Jennifer,
I purchased your Valentine finger light cards last Wednesday. I was frantically looking for a quick, easy and CHEAP end of the year gift for my students. I found finger lights at Dollar Tree and then looked on Pinterest & TPT for a way to present them to kiddos on Thursday. I quickly found your valentine cards & thought perhaps I could edit them and use them. I ended up using another seller's Baggie topper but thought I should pass on my thoughts. Have you considered changing the word "Valentine" to just a blank? I think the child's name and then the rest of the card exactly like you designed it would make such a cute end of the year gift! There just doesn't seem to be a lot of EOY gift ideas that are quick & easy. I love the awards with small prizes & candy bar wrappers from other sellers but they are too expensive to buy for a class of 28. Just an idea....now I'm going back to $ Tree to buy more lights & I'm going to make the Valentine cards soon. I'm sooooo tired of scrambling around at the last minute for gifts & prizes. This girl is gonna get organized! Cari Frasier

I have been considering bundling some or all of the CVC products. How would you like to see them bundled? Would you like to see a set of clip cards (rhyming, initial, medial, ending sounds). Would you like to see everything bundled in a big, bad, CVC set? or do you have another bundle idea? Thanks.....Jennifer

Dear Jennifer,
Thanks for answering my question... so many times I never hear back from a seller. My guided group did play your owl letter match game but with a twist... I placed all four letter card mats on the table... I gave one baby owl card to one child and the rest of the group pretended to be the mama owl calling her baby... they would make the correct letter sound to call the baby... the child with the baby owl would have to answer her call by making the also making the correct letter sound and then place the baby owl on the correct letter card mat. My children loved playing it and so did my administrator when she popped in to evaluate me the day we were "playing" it !!! I hope you will keep in mind to make 5 boards when you create future games.. janice

Hi Janice,

I always appreciate product suggestions from customers. Unfortunately, I am unable to update the letter match freebie at this time, but will consider your suggestion on future product updates and designs. To adapt the game to 5 players, I would make duplicate copies of the gameboards and letter cards (perhaps play with 2 copies of 3 of the gameboards ). Place the cards in a pile and have the children take turns drawing from the pile. The child who draws a card that is on his or her gets to keep it. If the card drawn is not on his or her gameboard, the card goes into a discard pile. Hope this suggestion helps. Thanks again for your feedback. -Jennifer

This is cute! Where is y and z? There are 26 letters. Is there a way to add those to one of the board. I just want to use it as matching the letters, not a "game" per say.
September 11, 2013 Report inappropriate comment
Jennifer Hier
Jennifer Hier  (TpT Seller)
There was some thought put into this when the activity was designed, and I would love to explain why there is not a Y or Z on the trees. Four game boards were created. Because it would cause some drama with a group of children if some game boards had more letters/owls than others, it was very important that each game board have an equal number of letters. There are 26 letters in the alphabet, so this did cause a problem. I thought about putting duplicate letters on some game boards, but I felt that this would also cause some problems when a group of young children played. Who would get the first one that was drawn? For that reason, only 24 letters were used on the trees. I, however, included an x and z card so that children could identify and/or practice making the sounds of these letters when they were drawn. In the complete owl set that I sell in my TpT store, both capital and lowercase x and z cards are included with this particular activity so that children can also play match games with them. If you wish to play a matching game with the cards and game boards, you can still do this by just not including the x and z. I apologize for any confusion -Jennifer

Hi Mrs. Elle,

I am so sorry to hear that you are having problems printing the document. I just downloaded the document from the website and did a test print. The gradient in the snowman printed fine. The director at my preschool printed a copy of the activity for each classroom, so I know that it works on other computers too. When a customer experiences a printing problem, I always suggest that he or she download the document again. Check the ink supply on your printer, and perhaps try printing on another printer. Jennifer Hier
Jennifer Hier  (TpT Seller)
Thanks for your interest in and questions regarding my Apple Tree Count. The two spinners that are included with the product are the number portions of the spinner. The mechanism is not included. I cut out the center hole and attach a spinner mechanism that I purchase at United Art and Education, but you can also create a mechanism from a brad and a paper clip. Here is an excerpt from the directions on the product:

Spinner:
If you use a traditional 1-6 die, a game can be over with only two rolls of the die. So, I often make a die by drawing 1-3 dots on a small cube-shaped block. I have also included two spinners that you can print. Spinner A is for an easier game while Spinner B is for more advanced play. I use a 4” spinner that I purchased at United Art and Education http://www.unitednow.com/product/3528/game-spinners.aspx . You can also make a spinner with a brad and paper clip as shown on this link http://ccfungames.edublogs.org/2010/09/09/paper-plate-spinner/

You can add Velcro to the apple tree and to the back of the apple counter if you want to attach the apples to the tree. When we use the game in our preschool, the children simply cover the apples on the tree with apple counters. I usually cut out and laminate counters and then hot glue them to the top of milk caps. This makes them a little easier for little hands to handle. Here are the directions from the product:

Game Pieces:
You will need 10 apple counters for each game board. Little apple ornaments or erasers can be used as counters, but I have also included printable counters that you can use. I find that attaching the printable counter to something makes them easier for little hands to grasp and move. The printable apple counters are sized to fit perfectly on the lid of a milk jug. WARNING: USING SMALL LIDS IS A CHOCKING HAZARD AND IS NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN UNDER 3. When I apply the game pieces to a lid I simply laminate, trim on the dotted lines, and attach to the appropriate sized lid with a hot glue gun. Instead of attaching printable game tokens to lids, I sometimes back them with self adhesive foam to give them a little bulk. You may also wish to apply velcro to both the back of laminated game pieces and on each apple on the game board.

I hope this helps answer some of your questions. Please let me know if I can help with anything else.

If the addition of "0" was something that I could do quickly, I would be more than happy to add the page on the freebie. Unfortunately, I checked out my original emergent reader file in Illustrator and some of the original pages had not been saved. If I can figure out how to add the pages to the PDF without re-creating some of the original pages, I'll do it and post an update to this question. Otherwise, I value your suggestion and will try to add zero to future emergent readers where it is appropriate. Thanks. -Jennifer
