I hold a Masters in Education for Peical Education. I am certified in Special Education, English 7-12, and as a Reading Specialist. I spent 1 year teaching in a private school for students with behavior disorders, 7 years as a special education teacher at the HS level with a focus on reading, one year as a K-5 reading specialist and 2 years teaching 7th grade reading in a regualr ed setting.

My teaching style leans toward a differentiated approach. I use direct instruction, hands on learning, games and a myriad of techniques depending on what the students need.

I recieved my BA, M.Ed and teaching certificates at the University of Pittsburgh, Main campus. I continue to attend classes and trainings every year to stay on top of the most recent researched-based methods through college courses, the IU's and PaTTAN.

I am married with a two and a half year old daughter at home. Teaching is my passion, crocheting, photography and horse back riding are my hobbies. I am also a PartyLite consultant.
