jenscarapicchia re: Perimeter and Area by JennyG
Good Morning,

I just purchased your perimter and area product. It was listed as a powerpoint, but it downloads as PDF file and I cannot use this as a powerpoint, which I had intended. Please advise.

Hi, I'm sorry for the confusion. You can display the pdf as a slideshow in Adobe. To display the slides as full screen, go to the View drop down menu and select the Full Screen option. This should work as you intended! If you have any questions, please write back. I certainly want for you to be able to use the activity!!

Casey Henegar  (TpT Seller) re: Capacity Sort Cards by JennyG
HI Jenny,

I am excited to use this activity with my second grade students. One quick question--do you have an answer key? Or more specifically, is there an even number of answers under each category of cups, pints, quarts, and gallons?

Thanks,
Casey

Hi Casey, Thanks for your question. I didn't include an answer key because there is some flexibility for student response. When my students did their sort I emphasized the importance of justifying their answers to me as well as to their partners. While there are some answers that can't very well be argued (such as measuring gas for the car), most of these could be answered with one or two acceptable responses. If you need a guideline, I'd be happy to email a loose answer key. Just let me know!
Enjoy the conversation because I think this activity will spark plenty of it! (I also have a sort for lengths if that interests you?)
Have a great week!!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have experience in the general education classroom for 13 years in public schools in Maryland and Tennessee. Includes: ~experiences in PK-5 ~students from Title One, special education, students with autism, ADHD, exceptional, and learning disabilities, diverse cultures ~experiences with curriculum writing, mapping, and development ~member of school improvement and school leadership teams ~trained extensively in behavior management ~nominations for teaching awards

MY TEACHING STYLE

I strive to create creative and engaging lessons for my students. I don't teach from the textbook or assign excessive amounts of workbook pages. We often create our own investigations and explore concepts using inquiry and curiosity. My lesson presentations on TPT are examples of the engaging lessons I teach everyday. The most meaningful compliment that my students give me is, "You make learning fun!" I hope to bring this concept to more classrooms through my materials.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I've been nominated by students and their parents for a variety of national teaching awards including Disney Teacher of the Year. Though I haven't been selected, I am honored by the nominations. The most meaningful awards I've received have come in the form of unofficial hand-drawn certificates distinguishing me as the "best teacher in the whole wide world!"

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor of FIne Arts (University of Houston) Certificate of Teaching (Hood College) Masters in Curriculum and Instruction (Hood College)

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

The products I create for Teachers Pay Teachers are items that I have successfully used in my own classroom. I purposefully do not use an excess of colors, clipart, and borders in my TPT printable items in an effort to save on printing and ink costs. Need creative/original art work for your posters, presentations etc? I am happy to create additional items upon request. This is all available to you. Custom priced. Let me know your requirements!
