This is the best comprehension guide I've seen for this book. Just as a heads up, I have the newest version of the book and the vocabulary word page numbers don't match up. Other than that and one or two typos, it is AMAZING! My kiddos love using it too. :)

This Frindle packet rocks!!! I always gravitate towards novel studies that break the activities into chapters. I love that different skills are addressed, allowing for varied skill practice through the whole packet. I also love the comprehension questions for each chapter and the space to reflect on the chapter by visualizing, asking questions, making predictions, etc. Great packet!!

Overall, the packet is unbelievable. I love the multiple skills that are addressed and repeated for reinforcement. There is one thing that I wished you had provided in the packet and that would have been giving definitions of CROP/QV. That way the students could refer back to them and read what each response method meant. Again, wonderful job on the packet! Thank you!!!

I teach 2nd grade and I will be reading How to Steal a Dog with a group of 7 students. This packet is really going to compliment the book because it really dives into comprehension and the skills necessary for comprehension.

I would do no more than a chapter a day. If you were to increase it to 2 chapters, I would reduce the assignment in some way or just make sure they have enough time to complete most of it in class.

I love this packet! It is working exceptionally well for my 8th graders who often struggle with reading comprehension. Problem is, I purchased the packet, but never saved a copy for myself! Is that part of the one license deal and now I have to purchase another copy?

MD stands for "My Definition" and students use context clues to guess at the meaning of the word. DD stands for "Dictionary Definition" and the students look up the word. I guess I need a page in the packet to explain that. :) I hope you're finding the packet useful!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching elementary school for six years. I taught my first year in second grade, but the majority of my time has been spent in fourth. I love using technology in my classroom and creating new things to use and share.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I like to be very clear in my expectations for my students. My classroom is very organized and neat. We follow routines and a schedule, but every once in a while we'll break out of the routine for a little fun! I use A LOT of technology in my classroom. I love my students and I let them know it. I believe that optimism and excitement in teaching go a long way. My students think that every subject is my favorite. :)
