Jane has been teaching for 15 years at the middle school level. Throughout those years, she has taught 6th grade gifted science, 7th grade language arts, and is now teaching 6th grade English and Social Studies at the West Chester Area School District, Pennsylvania. She was an active member of the Curriculum Cabinet Committee for the Coatesville Area School District, Pennsylvania. She also assisted in creating and implementing the middle school accelerated English curriculum for the West Chester Area School District. Lastly, Jane has coached girls' middle school basketball,track,volleyball and lacrosse. Jennifer has been teaching for 10 years at the middle school level. Throughout those years, she has taught 6th grade science, mathematics, and language arts for the Coatesville Area School District, Pennsylvania. She served as mathematics department chair and was an active member of the Leadership Team, Liaison Committee, and was the head of the Standards and Assessment Committee. Jennifer is currently teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade mathematics, and is the mathematics department chair at her middle school for the West Chester Area School District, Pennsylvania.
Jane and Jennifer like to have their students engaged at all times. To accomplish this, they use technology in the classsroom, cooperative learning activities, authentic assessments, and a variety of research opportunities.
Jane was awarded the Distinguished Reading Teacher Award from Sumter School District II, South Carolina in 2000. One of her greatest accomplishments is having parents tell her how their children have grown as writers. Jennifer was awarded the Outstanding Service Award from the Coatesville Area School District, Pennsylvania in 2004. One of her greatest accomplishments is having the natural ability to build trust and respect with her students.
Jane earned a BA in Communications from Bloomsburg University, Pennsylvania and went on for her teaching certification from West Chester University, Pennsylvania. Jennifer earned a BS in Elementary Education from West Chester University, Pennsylvania and is also middle school certified in mathematics. In August 2006, Jane and Jennifer earned their master's degree in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College, Michigan.
