Very cute. I currently don't use tangable rewards and look for ways to verbally praise or help students feel more internal rewards in my second grade class. I may try this though since it would be a great way to add more math into the daily routine.

Thank-you for including all the hints on how to use your math bucks. I tried a system of my own, but I was rewarding too much and the student was loosing out in the long run. I like your suggestions better.

I implemented this into my Algebra I curriculum, tweaking it a bit to fit the ninth grade. They love the journal and they are enjoying algebra much more! Thanks for sharing this idea! Since I also teach in a Christian school, I love the ideas that incorporate Christian values.

I LOVE the idea! I currently use a science notebook, and have been working on a way to incorporate a math notebook. The IDEA is good. But, there's nothing really here to download. Almost every good teacher employs the reward system in this way and it's nothing really new. Give us a "math buck" that you've created and that would be a great "fun stuff" download.

Excellent! We are already in the second quarter here in Florida, but I can not wait to implement this lesson next year! In Florida, reading and writing are huge obstacles for us, and I am always looking for ways to incorporate these in my math classes. Hi Beth, Yes. That is correct. The reason is the pages of the book were originally set up to be printed which means that the number of pages had to be a multiple of 4.

I have read your idea about Math Bucks and I would like to implement it in my classes next school year.
