I spent the first 6 years of my career teaching 1st grade. I will now be teaching 2nd grade for my 7th year of teaching. I taught the gifted cluster in 1st grade for 2 years and will be teaching a gifted cluster in 2nd grade this year.
I spend a lot of time differentiating my instruction as well as teaching students to be independent so that I can spend more time working in small groups. I like for their learning to be applicable in real-life situations. I love science and math and integrating contents. I am also a big fan of using academic vocabulary with my students because they love to wow their parents with the big words they learn in school.

I have my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. I began a Masters degree in Elementary Education with a reading endorsement, but had to stop when the district could no longer pay for the classes. I am now looking into getting my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction as this has peeked my interest over the years.
