I'm sorry you didn't find what you needed in the items you purchased. Task cards are basically independent activities the children can choose at many of the stations. I found a variety of free task cards on Pinterest or you can Google a specific subject and grade to find some that will fit the needs of your classroom. Unfortunately, since I was not the creator of the task cards that I use, I could not include them with my products. The rotation chart gives you the logistics of making sure that each group gets to each station within the week. Please e-mail me at techteacher47@gmail.com with specific concerns/questions about the chart and I'll try to elaborate for you. I'm not sure if you are having difficulty setting up the groups or managing the rotation schedule. Please let me know and I'll be glad to help. I took them from our Louisiana Treasures series, but I have seen them on other sites from other states and the words are the same. The challenge words were just derived from word family and content words. Hope that helps. Thank you! :)

Thank you. I haven't seen anything like this for other grades. I put this all together myself using the Treasures materials and some Project Read word lists we had constructed at my school many years ago. Have you checked some of the Treasures discussion boards for 4th grade? I know there are quite a few for 2nd grade.

Hi Tracy, Many of the words I used for challenge words came from Project Read spelling lists that some other teachers in my grade level designed many years ago. Hi Shelly, In my school district we use "Thinking Maps," which are graphic organizers the students use in all subject areas. A tree map is basically a way to categorize information. The students write their topic at the top of the tree and then branch out into as many categories as they want to sort their information. For example, with spelling I often have the children sort their words based on the number of syllables or the word family sounds. Thank you for downloading my free item. I hope you find it useful. I use a behavior chart too and have a place for parents to sign for each day. My behavior chart is briefer as I deal with Kindergarten and have to conference one on one at the end of the day. We do use a task chart which they fill in themselves as they go from center to center. It is similar to yours.

Thank you, John! That is so nice of you. Here is what would work best for my 4-6 graders. If the Assessment row (yellow) would have an ORF column, RF column, and then a Daze column. The Daze score range is 0-51. If 51 is too difficult to reach due to the chart below, 20+ would work as the tops for it as well. I hope this makes sense, if not, please let me know. I was also wondering if it is possible to add more PM rows. We progress monitor weekly. If there was a possibility to have 4 for each month. December would only need Benchmark. This is when we will do our Winter Benchmark and then we are off for 3 weeks. If this is too much, or won't work, I understand...no worries. Thank you for your kindness! Heather Hofman

Hello, My name is Heather Hofman. I am a Reading Specialist and ELL teacher this year. I am the Dibels coordinator at my school and purchased your individual student Dibels recorder. Our school Dibels K-3 and then all 4-6 graders that are in a Lang. Arts remedial class, SpEd, and ELL. However, our district doesn't have funding for us to enter our 4-6 on the Dibels data website. This is where your excel spreadsheet will be perfect for me to utilize! I was wondering if you would consider creating this without the NWF and in turn, adding the DAZE (Dibels Next version). This is their Cloze or Maze portion of the test. I am not excel savy and wouldn't know how to go about doing this without many hours of trial and error :). The calculations for the chart would do me in. I desire to become more excel savy someday. If you did create this, I would love to purchase that version of it. TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching for 18 years at the same school in Mandeville, Louisiana. I taught 1st grade for six years and have taught 2nd grade for twelve years. I was the director of our summer camp for three years and have worked both before and after school programs. I also worked as the web manager and technology point person for our school.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I run a disciplined classroom, but I also believe that students must be given responsibilities in order to learn how to be responsible. I use a mini-society in my classroom to help build a community of learners. I would much rather use hands-on center activities to teach my students, rather than JUST a textbook. I differentiate instruction for both low and high performing students.
