John Schacter earned his doctorate from UCLA in educational psychology and graduated with highest honors in Literature from UC San Diego. Before starting his own educational consulting company, The Teaching Doctors, Dr. Schacter served as vice president of research for the Milken Family Foundation, Senior Fellow at Stanfords Educational Leadership Institute, and continues to teach as an Adjunct Professor of Educational Psychology at San Jose State University. A frequent presenter on issues pertaining to teacher quality, effective teaching, reading instruction, and teacher evaluation, John has been invited to testify to numerous state legislatures. He has appeared on National Public Radio, NBC News, Radio Disney, and his research has been cited in USA Today, The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, The Orlando Sentinel and other newspapers and magazines across the country. Dr. Schacter has published over 40 research articles, is the author of two books, and has trained thousands of teachers and administrators across the country.
