I loved this packet!! Each chapter focused on a different skill...I loved that it was broke down into chapters and that each one provided practice for relevant comprehension skills. Also the article that was included for Chapter 2 provided an awesome text to text connection! Inferring, cause and effect, visualizing, sequencing, fact and opinion...it goes on and on. Awesome!!! I want a packet like this for every novel I read with my kids!!!

There were several typos. On one page two characters from a completely different book were named in the instructions. Then in the activity, two characters from this book were named. It was easy to get around but a little sloppy. Overall it was a pretty good unit.

I gave these journals to the 3rd graders in my resource room. These are students who are not very independent. I had them respond to the first prompt and all of them did well. Two students asked if they could do another page when they finished! I also like that you included the half page of lines plus the extra full page for each prompt. Thanks!

Wow! I love this comprehension packet. You have hit on so many different reading comprehension strategies (sequencing, making connections, fact/opinion, inferring, and "right there questions"). The fun graphics will definitely hold the reader's attention. Thanks for this great resource!

I love your cards. I just purchased this. I'm wondering if there is a way for you to make a card that has- connections, main event, problem, solution, characters, and setting all on one card? Could you resize those 6 to fit on one page? I would love it if you could! I'd like to have those all on one page as a resource for each child to have. Please let me know if this is possible. Hello! I am glad you love the comprehension cards! I will work on making a smaller version of the cards to add on to the end of the pack as a resource.
