I thought this was a great idea for morning work. Unfortunetly, it is a little hard for my 3rd graders to do on their own. In PA we dont even get to division with remainders and multiplication and division are one of the last things we do before PSSA's. I was a little dissappointed because I thought this was going to be a great independent activity. Your work is fabulous here but its just too hard for my kids :( Thanks anyway!!!

Hi there! At this time, I do not have plans for a calendar time or morning meeting unit, but that is a wonderful idea!! I am adding it to my to-do list for sure! I am in 2nd/3rd grade now, but I LOVE making stuff for younger ones!! Thanks for the suggestion.

Right now the packet has the 1 syllable horse and 2 syllable cactus. I teach kindergarten--some kids are working on 1-2 syllable words while others are working on 3 & 4 syllables. We especially loved playing On the Loose! rhyming words game and Helping Thing 1 and Thing 2 find the way while practicing our sight words! We also enjoyed the fish addition mats!
