I appreciate you visiting my store, but it is very discouraging to see a lower star rating for accuracy and thoroughness especially on a free product that offers not only a unique and creative activity but also the answers for a print and go product. Feedback and star ratings are crucial on TPT for products and overall seller ratings, and I feel a more thoughtful approach is warranted - again especially on free items.

I'm not sure why you voted the product down from a 4.0 to a 3.5 - especially when it is a freebie. A lot of time and effort goes into my products here on TPT, and it is rather discouraging when someone leaves a lower star rating that seems so unfounded. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy using the organizers in your classroom.

I purchased this and the quiz about external/internal citations. Unfortunately, the questions on the quiz were nearly identical to the questions on this test. I feel like I paid twice for the quiz...that was disappointing. However, the test was well done and certainly served the review task I had in mind.

I'm glad that you found use with this exercise. Just to clarify about the other test you mentioned... The description of this test says, "It has 30 multiple choice questions and one constructed response -- 20 are the same as my MLA format of internal and external citations test and 10 are new specifically related to analyzing primary and secondary sources." I have the two for sale because some people do not want the questions on primary and secondary sources- that exercise is shorter and priced less. With the two options they can choose what best works.

I'm not really sure that the feedback you left is reflective of the product. First of all everything listed in the description is included so I'm not sure why you wrote that it was not as advertised. Secondly every question included is written as a text based question for common core. I am certain of that since I am a common core trainer for the state of TN. Finally this product has been purchased numerous times and has a very high rating by others. If you were so unhappy with the product or felt it wasn't something you could use then it would have been more appropriate for you to message privately than to do it so publicly.

Great resource. I thought some of the answer choices could have been written better such as "Plunk it right in with no introduction" - although humorous, it does kind of signal to the student that it's not the correct answer. :)

Thank you for the feedback. Anytime I give a test and especially ones I write, we always go over every question and answer choice as a separate activity to teach students to analyze test wording and how choices can be distracting or flat wrong based on wording, etc. I also try to provide teaching opportunities through my tests. Since we will be doing more work with MLA even after this test, the "what not to do- wrong answers" such as the one you mentioned will stick in their head and hopefully they will apply that. As with most of my products, the test is editable to meet a variety of needs. Each teacher knows his/her own students best. Thanks for shopping my store.

Hello! I actually show the entire film Mean Girls 2 after we have read Macbeth entirely, watched the play along with the reading, and done an essay and test usually. This acts as a closure for the unit and gives another chance to talk about the theme in a new way. They do the questions on this worksheet as they watch and then we discuss them. The flipchart file only works with ActivInspire Promethean users. The ppt file and the PDF file included are the exact same lesson. I just included different formats for different types of users. I will go ahead and email you the ppt and pdf file just to be sure.

I tried other options (Internet Explorer and Notepad), but no luck. Any ideas? I am doing this at home, but I do have Smartboard software at school. Will that solve the issue?

I am honestly not sure if "smart" can import "activ" stuff. I know my "activ"will import "smart" stuff. I did include a PDF version of it and I know I can even put PDFs as read only into my "activ" flip chart. There is only one slide that is technically movable. So even if you use it as a PDF maybe you can use "smart" over that slide to draw matching lines. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help!

You are right and I am so sorry! Thank you for checking with me before leaving a response. I realize now that when I created the PDF from the chart that I had the color button to grayscale and only the first page is showing. I am going to rebuild the PDF so that it is in color and includes all the pages with notes. However the fonts used in the cover are just for cover purposes only. I use more plain fonts on the actual slides to make it easier for the kids to read. I am going to upload a new file for the site that you can download and I can email you a copy too if you want to message me with your email address. The program it was originally made in is called activ inspire to use with Promethean boards. But I am going to fix the pdf right because i I want to make sure you have something that you feel good about and can use.

The readers' scripts do only cover a few scenes in the act. They are designed to be used for the end of the act (act 2-4). That way I can teach through the beginning if the act as we read along with the audio and then by the end of the period they are ready to get up and move around we do the costumes and scripts. There is no act 1 because I use that act to build characters and setting etc. My kids love it!! Thanks for looking!

I think this file would work well for what you are looking for. It is a word file too so it is easily editable. Second it has a portion that the students fill out about their specific yb skills in photography, computer, etc. - even attendance and gpa. then there is a place for them to write why they want to be in staff (which you could change to your positions). The teacher portion would be great because the student chooses the teacher and take it to them and the teacher brings it back to you. It has several criteria for them to rate the student and then has a portion for the teacher to write something. Teachers who do this for me take it very seriously and are always honest.

On the first word Reinstate you used the R as the first letter of the word, are you able to do that with the other words for the A, C and E?

Yes!! The R stands for restate the prompt/question. The A stands for answer the question....and so on!! When you download the item you'll see the other letters and there is even an example for free!! Let me know if you have more questions

I am so glad you are interested in my readers theater. I use these every year and I can't tell you how much my students LOVE them!!! I don't have the act 1 script because we always read it exactly from the oeiginal text together to set it all up. I show the 1974 version but I would think if the version you have follows the original plot enough then it would work. It asks students general questions like to identify conflict or the resolution of the story making it easily adaptable to most versions who stick to the original plot. The quiz also only tests those same skills on the organizer in a way that provides enough info for students who haven't even read the novel. Both the organizer and the quiz are more about practicing and quizzing certain standards and skills and Gatsby is just the story I use to review those skills. I hope that makes sense!

Here are a few suggestions that might help you to better market your products. First, create a cover page for EVERY product you create which can then be used as an attractive thumbnail to entice buyers. Add a second page which is a directions or suggestions page. List several ways you use this product in your classroom. Never assume that a buyer knows how, why, or when to use your product. Use the footer to put the copyright symbol, your name and date of creation on EVERY page. Items, especially free ones, have been "stolen" from TPT and posted on other sites to be sold. You have to protect all of your creations. Also, number your pages.
Unless you want buyers to be able to revise your products (I do on my tests) save everything in a PDF format as it makes it harder to revise or change.
If you have time, I’d appreciate your input on one of my freebies listed below. I like o get feedback from many different teachers.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
This is my 10th year teaching English and 6th year with journalism. I have experience at the middle school, high school, and college level. Rural and suburban. Regular, honors, and inclusion. I also teach Prek-k in Children's Church and K-2 in Awanas!! So my range is very wide. I see English everywhere. I know that sounded a little "Sixth Sense"ish, but it's true! I can't even walk into McDonald's without noticing the pun on a sign in their window. What's worse, is I actually stopped to take a picture for use in my class! To me, my job is about teaching students to see, make, and appreciate those connections. The world around them is full of opportunity, and I want them to notice that and seize it. In addition to all this... I am also working as a common core ELA training specialist. My store is geared directly to helping teachers integrate common core in their classrooms smoothly and effectively. Most everything, as well, has been tested in my classroom with a variety of students, so I am confident that these products work!

Photography is my hobby - and my passion. Two of my photographs of "pageant girls" have won Most Photogenic! I have also been awarded Honorable Mention by TN Home and Farm Magazine for one of my submissions.
