Hi, Cara! Thank you so much!! I really appreciate your note. Your little girl and grandma was perfect for my main characters, Sally and Grammy!! I wrote my Sally stories because I couldn't find anything else like them, but I really needed to get this specific message across to my kids at church. They LOVE Sally. After I while, though, my hand-scratches weren't cutting it, so I decided to upgrade! TPT clip artists were my first choice! I would love to see it being read to tons of kids, so hopefully other teachers and families will find it and love it, too! I'll definitely keep your store in mind for future art for Sally!

Brooke R. re: Real World Grammar Fails Task Cards {Everywhere English} Modern & Fun
Okay, here are the results for this product!!!! I divided my class into teams armed with a clipboard and flair-type colored ink pen (different color each group). I taped the cards all around the room and out into the hallway. Each card was numbered and the clipboards and blank answer sheets were premade, easier checking for me. Needless to say, the competition was fierce. The groups had one minute per card and when I rang the bell, each group had to move. Worked like a charm. Students loved it, my principal got in on the fun, and it was a fun-filled day for me as well. Here's a double WOO-HOO to you and a huge thanks!!!

What a super fun way to use the cards. And extra bonus points to you for impressing the principal!! That's what makes TPT so great- true collaboration! You absolutely rock!

Hi, Tammy! Yes. When I do this with my students to promote divergent thinking on specific topics like theme and figurative language, I like to have more than one student speak on those topics. I went ahead and made more than one card for some of those skills. I have used this strategy for years in different ways and was recently evaluated when I had my kids using them. It went very well, and he was impressed with how much the kids were talking about poetry! I hope you are liking them and have good success with them.

Hi, I recently downloaded the color by proofreading sheet for St. Patrick's Day, and noticed that number 6 and number 3 both have spelling errors. Number 3 should be to instead of too, and number 6 should be dye instead of die. I also don't see the comma error in number 6... maybe I'm missing it? Please help!
Thanks!

Julie Faulkner  (TpT Seller)
Thank you for contacting me. This is a grammar editing worksheet, so there are errors. Number 3's mistake on the to/too is the error. Number 6's spelling error with die/dye was intentional as well, but I decided to correct that one so each sentence would only have one error - the comma error in the case of number 6. When listing a city and state in the middle of the sentence, a comma goes before the state and after. Also note that there is an answer key included. Hope that helps.

I'm sorry you are having trouble with the preview download; I wish you could see it. It is 7 pages long!! The new Writing Bundle does contain items that are sold separately in my store - my thinking with the bundle is it would be a great start up and it saves money. It has all four self-eval forms, the fear narrative, the famous love stories project, and the cyber bully prompt that *I think* you have :)! The other tasks are my antiques project (free in my store, but this version has a teacher model), my imaginative narrative prompt, and my paid for grades argumentative prompt. Sorry I didn't have the bundle available earlier. I am still building my store, and I have so many ideas in my queue!

I found your store through the sellers' forum. I came to look for the photography you mentioned in a thread about selling photographs on TPT.
2 things:
1. I couldn't find the photos (I want to buy some for a project I'm working on:)
2. On a different note, I noticed that you have a lot of products that are literature-based. Did you have to get permission from the publishers to make products to go along with those books? I would like to create some things to go along with some picture books that I use in first grade but was unsure about using the title of a book in a product.
Here is my email if you would rather answer that way. Thank you.

I have your Human Resources MLA unit and the summative assessment test for MLA. Do you have a unit for teaching basic MLA parenthetical citations and works cited?

Hello! I'm excited to know my MLA resources are working for you. I do have MLA presentations and practice worksheets that I do with my students. Currently, I don't have those for sale in my store, but I"m happy to work something up. Just follow me, if you haven't already, and you'll get a notification when I get it posted! Thank you!

Hi Julie,

I purchased your speeches unit, and can't open the flipchart about Patrick Henry. I'm not surprised to discover that, but I expected to find the document in a ppt or pdf, also (or to be able to purchase the flipchart app), but none of these seem available to me. Can you help me out?

Thanks!

Tammy

I thought I included a PDF but what is your email and I'll send you one. The flipchart file is only for Promethean users.

I purchased your I have who has/Elements of Literature and love it. However, it seems to be missing a card - with the phrase situational irony, and the definition for archetype.
Thanks for filling a last minute gap in my lessons! yt, Bethany Gerlach

Bethany,
Hello! Sorry for the trouble. Sometimes the boxes move around on a file like this one, so I took a look to see what I could do. I have reformatted it and uploaded the new file. The new PDF should pull up now. While I was working on it, I jazzed up the cover, too! I'm happy that you found something in my store to work for you. I hope I've been able to fix it fast enough for you to use it in your lesson. Thanks for shopping my store!

Dear Julie,
I downloaded your wonderful template for the domino game. I run a teaching site for therapists, parents and teachers who support children who are non-verbal and use a communication device. I would like to create a custom game using the template to teach linking verbs, and share on my site - I will give you full credit on the first page with a direct link to your materials. Would that be okay?
Thank you so much,

Julie, are you interested in partnering with me? I have invented a ceiling hanger that keeps teachers safely on the ground when they hang your signage...invented after a dear friend suffered a terrible fall just hanging signs like yours in her classroom. Check us out at hang-mate.com. I have a store here, as well. sheri@hang-mate.com

Hi Julie,

I can't seem to open the flipchart portion of the text features file. I'm assuming I do not have the software available to do so. Is there another way you can send it? Thank you.

Hi- You should see three file types of the same slide show (a flip chart for Promethean users, a read only PDF file, and a PPT). Hopefully one of those will open for you as they are all the same. I just prepared one in each type so more teachers could use it. Let me know if you need more assistance. Thanks for shopping my store!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 10th year teaching English and 6th year with journalism. I have experience at the middle school, high school, and college level. Rural and suburban. Regular, honors, and inclusion. I also teach Prek-k in Children's Church and K-2 in Awanas!! So my range is very wide. I see English everywhere. I know that sounded a little "Sixth Sense"ish, but it's true! I can't even walk into McDonald's without noticing the pun on a sign in their window. What's worse, is I actually stopped to take a picture for use in my class! To me, my job is about teaching students to see, make, and appreciate those connections. The world around them is full of opportunity, and I want them to notice that and seize it. In addition to all this... I am also working as a common core ELA training specialist. My store is geared directly to helping teachers integrate common core in their classrooms smoothly and effectively. Most everything, as well, has been tested in my classroom with a variety of students, so I am confident that these products work!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Engaging, student-centered, hands-on, critical thinking. I believe all my products are user friendly, keeping the student and teacher in mind. Fun, innovative, standards-driven secondary English teacher I have two cardinal rules in my class that govern my teaching and student learning and behavior in my class: #1) Own it. Whatever we are doing and from bell to bell, students must take owernship and be accountable. I do the same. #2) Be aware of your surroundings. Don't just let life pass you by without noticing! The date is posted on the board, why ask? There is a back to the worksheet - did you look? The answer is in the text - did you read it? Always checked in - always alert!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Photography is my hobby - and my passion. Two of my photographs of "pageant girls" have won Most Photogenic! I have also been awarded Honorable Mention by TN Home and Farm Magazine for one of my submissions. I am also VERY proud for my yearbook staff who has been awarded with an Honorable Mention from Jostens in the Creative Spreads category in 2010. We have also been featured in Jostens's Lookbook twice for creative covers and spreads. I had the personal honor of being 2013 PCHS Teacher of the Year.
