Teaching has always been in my heart. I have been teaching for the past 18 years and have experience in teaching grades 1-5. I have taught multi-age and looping classrooms as well as traditional classes. I have been lucky that 15 years of my experience has included first grade which is my first love! I am a member of the International Society of Technology Education and a Promethean Board user.
I believe that every child should be taught at a level that will ensure their greatest success. I believe in differenciated, small group instruction and the use of technology to enhance student engagement and learning. Most of my lessons include some kind of engaging hook or hands on activity. My classroom is child-centered and I am working on learning and integrating the Core Curriculum into all my lessons.
I have a B.S. from Martin Luther College and Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University. I am a member of the International Society of Technology Education. I have taken many post Master's classes and workshops in differenciation, technology, and standards based education.
