Hi, thanks for your question. It is a powerpoint file with advanced features. You can use it with just just a computer and projector. A SmartBoard is not necessary. Students can either click at the computer or use a wireless mouse to click. I have used it successfully in these ways with and without a SmartBoard. More complete directions are included in the file. Briefly, I play the game in my classroom like the board game Clue--only I group the students. Like the board game, I have included cards for suspects, weapons, and place. A notes page is included to help students keep track of which cards they have seen. Before playing I put one of each into an envelope. A group must either state an accusation to get a clue or state they wish to solve the case. I hope this helps.
