TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a retired language teacher with 30 years of experience teaching French and ESL at the high school level. I helped to create the ESL program at our school when it became clear in the mid 1990's that our immigrant student population was growing very quickly , and we had no plan for how to educate them effectively. While I loved teaching French, teaching ESL was my passion! I taught everything from grammar to reading and usually found myself creating all my own materials as there was very little to choose from in the first several years of our program.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that students should be engaged in their learning, and that they will get as much as they give. As a teacher, it is my job to encourage my students to always do their best. My motto is that whatever is worth doing is worth doing well.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I was born in Chicago, Illinois in to an Army family As a result of my father's job in the military, I lived in eight different states and in Germany in two different cities. I received a very good education in a lot of schools! I am married to my high school sweetheart. We have two daughters, one granddaughter, and two grandsons. Family is a very high priority for us, and we spend as much time together as a family as possible.
