I have been teaching elementary school for 21 years. Most of that has been in kindergarten, first and second grade classrooms.I love making things on the computer to improve my teaching. I have been studying the Common Core State Standards and working hard to create materials to suport the Common Core in my classroom. I have served on technology and curriculum committees in my district. I presented at the Michigan Reading Association's Yearly Conference. That was fun!

I like to provide studnets with hands on experiences and give them the opportunity to be creative. I try to listen to each child to find out how to best teach them. Many would say I tend to have a relaxed teaching style. I try to temper that with clear expectations and explicit modeling for those lessons that require it so that students will be successful in all areas.

A father once presented me with a mug. Then he took both of my hands in his, looked deep into my eyes and whispered, "I want to thank you for teaching my son this year. It has made all the difference." Geatest Honor I was ever Awarded
