Very cute graphics and perfect for spring time. I will use these in April. Each month I try to base the nonsense blending skill on a holiday or time of year that we are in. These are perfect for spring. I also appreciate that the ink used for the words was black.
Thanks for the wonderful feedback. So glad you like the Parts of a Book Pact!! The poem should be the last page of the document. To make the full color book, I simply printed and laminated each page. I used a book binding machine to punch the left edge and added a book comb to hold it together. To make the student books, I copied them 1 to 2 sided (to save paper!) and stapled them on the left edge. I simpley cut them down the middle and it makes two books at once. I hope that helps. Any more questions, just let me know!
I love this so much! I am an up and coming teacher and I am using this with my first graders this week. I with them less than two hours a week, but am super excited for your digraph sort and I am combining it with a blind written sort. So exciting thanks for having this free for new teachers!
I have made 2 packs so far and I have plans to make 2 more this summer. I have also created a first grade pack as well. If for some reason they are not showing up in my TPT store, please let me know! Thanks!

Susan F. re: Parts of a Book Pack-CCSS Aligned
Love this! Is there a particular tune that goes with the words of your parts of a book song?
Yes! It is called Ten Little Indians. If you are not familiar with it, you can listen to the song on you tube, here is one that I found. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=urdg94V7NLE&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Durdg94V7NLE. So glad that you love it!!! Thanks again!!

Rebecca A B. re: Vacation Vowel Sort
Shortage of short e words-yet 1 extra of a, i, o, and u. Is this intentional?? NOT criticizing by any means!! Just checking!!!
I did this on purpose just to make sure they were paying attention, but if you would like me to change some of the words I would be happy too! It was interesting to see the kids who actually pointed this out!! And surprisingly you are the first teacher to ask!
Thank you again schimkel!! I would like to send you my calendar journal packet 1 as a thank you. Please send me your email address!!

Alicia H. re: Safari Sight Word Practice
Love these tags. Is there a way to include a set of blank tags that are not pdf locked so that I can add sight words as we go along. I teach K-4 in one room self-contained for studetns who are ED. Obviously there varying academic levels and one set would not work but a blank that I can modify could. I can buy first then follow up with the blank tags if that makes you feel better? Or tell me the font/site to get the tags?
I am sorry but the agreement with the clip art says I have to lock it down before I sell it. I would be happy to make some for you with different sight words. I found the clip art on www.scrappindoodles.com and the font is called primer print. I have had it for several years and I do not remember where I got it!
I hope this help,

I have been teaching for eleven years now. With five years teaching Kindergarten I am off on a new adventure as the reading specialist and I am loving every second of it!
