This looks fantastic! I was debating between this unit and a few other Ramona units and I'm glad I decided on this one. I love the chapter responses - I like that they're not just "right there" questions, but they require students to make connections, infer, visualize, etc. Great resource! Product is exactly how it was described.

I purchased your 1st Grade Math Common Core Assessment Mega Pack. I love the assessments! However, I need to follow my district blueprints and I don’t teach each standard all at once. I actually wanted to cut and paste a few of the questions together so I can give the assessment as pre/post tests every quarter. Is there any way I could have an electronic copy (other than a pdf) of the assessment so I can cut and paste it to match my school’s curriculum map?

I just printed your packet and there is a problem with pages 14 and 15. The standard and name/date lines for page 15 are at the bottom of page 14. I see that others have also had this issue. All other pages are fine. Please send out those two pages or update the file so we can print them.

Hi Katie- The PDF file that I download in your 2nd Grade Common Core ELA Assessment Mega Pack doesn't load right on pages 14 and 15. It's just a minor thing-- the student name line and standards box for page 15 is at the bottom of page 14. I wasn't sure if it was an Adobe issue on my computer at home but it downloads like that on my computer at school as well. In the document you will find both the assessments as well as the answer key. The first portion of the document is the assessments followed by the answer key. The pages that say "student answers will vary" are in the answer key portion. Look at the beginning of the document for the matching student assessments.

Hi, I wanted to let you know that on the Chapter 3 page, there are a couple of mistakes. You left out a word in the directions, and on the bottom where the directions are for the comic strip, there was another error there. I forgot what it was as I left it in school. I wanted to let you know so you can correct it. I didn't realize it either but my class did! They had a lot of fun with the activity though!

There is just one assessment per common core strand (one for each of the 4 math strands) so they don't get progressively harder.
They could be used in any capacity but in my classroom I use them as pre and post assessments. You could use them this way or use them quarterly, either way would work fine! Hope this answers your question.

Both - sometimes I use them in reading groups but if I have enough copies of the book I will also use some of the units whole class. I plan to use Holiday Harry & the Holidaze whole class because it's also a good book to teach Holidays Around the World. Some of the novel studies that are more difficult I will only use with my higherer readers. Really, you could do it either way - whichever works for you! :)

Hi Kim - Yes I do, we don't use our basil much (Scott Foresman) but do use the spelling words from this series. I like them because the lists of words each focus on a different spelling pattern. Am I reading the problem wrong, or is there an error in the answer key? The middle problem on the 2.OA.1 page gives three numbers of books read by 3 kids, but the answer is only the sum of two of them. I've only given the first 2 sections to my kids, so I haven't gone over the rest of the assessment.
Even though we're less than halfway through, I am finding this to be VERY helpful for a quick snapshot of where the kids are in their learning. I'm a resource teacher of gifted, and I usually don't have many second graders, so I REALLY struggled with what to do with them. This assessment is showing me exactly what to teach!

Thank you! Yes, that's how I've used it. I pre-tested early in the year and just finished giving it as a post-test. I liked using it as a pre-test because it helped me plan my instruction and the comparison between the pre and post tests helped me to see their growth. Good luck!

I know you have the standards down for the Common Core(sorry I also didn't look this up; we are starting to implement next year) ..............but I am just wondering how much addition/subtraction(1,2, or 3 digit with and without regrouping ) you include in the packet? I have been searching and searching for a simple packet second graders can take home for the summer.
