Hi Kerry,
Thanks for offering to send a revised letter for me. Here is the info that I need changed:
The beginning paragraph is fine. The changes start with the rules.
Rules:
1. Follow directions the first time given.
2. Listen quietly while others are speaking.
3. Respect other people's property.
4. Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself.
5. Be kind and helpful.
(Paragraph 2)
Each morning the students will start the day on the color green. The green light is a reminder that they are making good choices and to keep doing what they are doing. Their light will remain green as long as they follow the classroom rules.
(Paragraph 3)
If the student starts to make bad choices, they will be given one verbal warning. If they continue after the warning, their name will moved to the color yellow. The yellow is a reminder that they need to think about the choices they are making and to make sure they are following the classroom rules.
(Paragraph 4)
If the student continues to make bad choices after being moved to yellow light, they will then have their name moved to red light. The red light is a reminder to stop what they are doing because they are not making good choices. The student will sit in the "Thinking Spot" for five minutes to reflect upon their actions. Then, the student and I, will write a note together to you explaining the behavior and what they are going to do to make better choices. The note will be signed by both the student and myself and be sent home for you to sign and return to school the next day.
At the end of the day, each student will color their behavior sheet with the color that they have earned that day. I will then initial for that day. At the end of the week, all students who have earned the color green the entire week will go to prize box first. Next, the students with one yellow or red for the week will get to go to the prize box. Those students who have been on yellow or red more than one day will not go to the prize box that week. They will be given a "How Can I Move From ___ to ____?" form to take home so they can discuss with their parents how they plan to earn the color green on the following week. If inappropriate behavior persists, a parent teacher conference will be scheduled.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I graduated in 2003 with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Central Florida. I've taught exceptional education preschool, kindergarten, third grade, and third grade inclusion. I love watching students have the "ah-ha" moment of figuring out and mastering new skills.
