Love this. I used it by having students make flashcards and try to answer, then give them the word bank to finish the flash cards. My only suggestion would be to make it more copy friendly by having the items fit on full pages instead of half page and part of item on next page. (That sounds incredibly wordy and unclear. Sorry, wording is not coming to me this morning!)

I am cross-curriculum teaching my FCSE classes and emphasizing the need of Math and L.A. in this class and real life. Which is a requirement for Admin. to assist our students that are stuggling in these areas with their low test scores. This reinforces to my teaching staff that we do not only do cooking for the sake of an end project...cookies! But we are readying our future generation for REAL-Life! :-)

I stopped my FCSE lesson when I heard a few students complaining about other peers they did not want to work with. I remembered I had downloaded this file on my Pen Drive, so I popped it in and we discussed every slide and drove the life and career skills home about learning we are ALL different and we need each other's support in class and in real life.
Thank you for this file, it really made a positive impact on my class and me!

Hi Kim, I am a Home Economics/Health/Girls Fitness Teacher at a local high school. I taught Home Economics for 8 years but stayed home to raise our children for 21 years. I recently returned to the profession and am a little overwhelmed at how different it is!! Thankfully I found this wonderful site that I have loved because it has saved me tremendous amount of time in planning tried and true lessons for all the different classes that I teach. This 9 weeks term I have been given a Nutrition and Cooking class to teach that currently has 24 students and 4 kitchens. Years ago I planned lessons, wrote lesson plans, and was able to start students off at the basic levels of food preparation. I had no problem dividing and organizing the cooking groups etc. But now? I am lost!!! Of course I got rid of all of my notebooks with all of my plans years ago!! I was wondering if you have any available materials that I can purchase that include basic cooking procedures, ideas on organization of the kitchen labs, organizing the cooking lab groups, activities, power points, worksheets on cooking utensils, and methods and inexpensive recipes that are pretty basic. If you can help me out with any of this it would be greatly appreciated! Toni Floyd

One reason I sell items so cheap as .pdf is to them being changed. Usually when I share as WORD or .ppt which allows the user to change, I charge more... It should still work as a slide show; that's how we upload for Blackboard for students to view the slideshow easier.
