I have 13 years experience working in pre-k and elementary school settings. Eleven of those years have been in kindergarten. I also work with home bound students and have spent time tutoring foreign exchange students during the summer.

I enjoying thematic units and feel students benefit greatly when a teacher ties subjects and standards into a theme. Some of my favorites are Eric Carle, American symbols, and holidays. I feel thematic units make learning much more interesting and in some cases reach students who may be struggling in a specific area.
