Although this is a cute idea, I found it impractical to do with a class of almost 30 students. It is a lot of prep. I assumed that the patterns to make the pancakes, cookies, pizza, front cover would have been included in this purchase, but it wasn't. I doubt that I will use it in my classroom.

No, they are standards based but not common core.. That is something we are slowly working towards. The journals are great for review/preview of basic math strands and we love using them with our students!

I only have a Smart Board in my classroom which has its own software so if you do not use the Smart Board Notebook software it may not work. I don't know for sure so you might just want to try it and see since its a freebie:)

Would it be possible to add a blank sheet master to this unit so we can add additional words to the word ring as needed? Reading the question that were asked about making the first grade set using this format....your reply was that you have the Star Ring Pack. I purchased that set but I do not like it nearly as well as the star prevents the words from being put directly at the end of the card as it is done on this set. I also noticed that the star distracted my students from looking solely at the words.

I just think your prices are much too high for what you get. Some of the other well known sellers on TpT have very large packets which sell for less. I hope you don't mind my comment. Best of luck!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
We have been teaching kindergarten together since 2000. We share a classroom but have our own students. The great thing about team-teaching is that for the majority of the day there are two teachers in the classroom working with the students. We support each other throughout the day and when we are not teaching, we share in the "prep" work!
MY TEACHING STYLE
We love working with kindergarten students! We feel the first year of school should be a time of wonder, excitement, fun and learning for the child as well as the family. Our goal is to give each child the tools he/she will need to be successful in a safe and nurturing school environment. The balance between what is developmental and teaching the standards is difficult, but we do the best we can and are always looking for the best teaching practices available.
HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
We are both very involved in our school. We have been on the Instructional Leadership Team, Visual and Performing Arts Committee and Technology Committees. At Founder's day our PTA awarded us with the Very Special Person Award.
MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
Joanne & Suzanne both have masters in Curriculum and Instruction.
ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Joanne is married with a son and twin daughters. Her days are filled with teaching, feeding, bathing, cleaning, laundry, . . . Suzanne is married with two daughters. Her days are filled with much of the same and she is loving being a mom!
