I have been looking for a game to reinforce coin money with my kindergarteners. So far I have only taught recognizing and the value of penny and dime. Teaching money is such a difficult concept for this age. I would love if you could make a bank board and game board with just penny and dime, and another with just penny and nickel so that the kiddos get practice with two coins before adding another into the mix. And for the higher kids, a bank board and game board with all four coins. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion! I, too, teach kinder and this is a great idea! Unfortunately money has been taken from the Common Core in kindergarten and I think that I am going to leave this game as is. We still plan to continue SORTING coins, but presently we are not planning to present the concept of COUNTING coins in kindergarten. I have been a TPT seller since June 2011. It took me a very long time to gain my followers. I revised and revised my products to make them into something that would be worthy of the money paid. I didn't really worry about followers when I first started. I wanted to make sure that my products were high quality before I had a large following. I have also been lucky to have had a few of my freebies in the newsletter. My blog has also helped!

Are you opening from a Mac? Make sure that your default is set to open in Adobe and that you have the latest version of Adobe. There is definitely nothing in the content to hurt your computer BUT it is a really large file and computers do not always want to open them. I just had a look at your generic Native American unit, I know you mean well, I think you should have a read of this blog (link below) - it is Thanksgiving specific but is good advice for teaching children about Native Americans. Lest they get the wrong historical impression (and believe in current day stereotypes), like is given with this benignly smiling Christopher Columbus /Explorer unit, that they painfully have to unlearn later (and many are resistant to unlearn, as seen by your response and another comment regarding my original post).
You have a great talent - it would be awesome to see you do some really meaningful and appropriate units concerning US History and Native American cultureS.

If you purchased my unit, you will see that I tried very hard to teach children that Native Americans lived in many different ways, and that Native Americans of today strive to continue their traditions in a world that has taken away so much from their culture. In my classroom, I talk to the kids about the different tribes and work VERY hard to NOT overgeneralize stereotypes. I worked to create a unit that applauded the greatness of the tribes BUT I also teach very young children so describing the horrors of what happened to these people is not in my agenda. I understand your concerns and am so sorry that you are offended by my resources.

We actually use Crayola washable markers and they really work! They are soft enough to not tear the tortilla shell and bright enough for kids to enjoy using. Good luck -hope everything works for you! Cindy

I love so many of your items. I tried to download the Columbus Day one as well as this Squirrel one, but a pulldown window asks me for "owner password" to unlock. Is this a problem on my end, or do you have a password on your TPT items.

Thank you, I downloaded it. I really like the instructions for creating using the construction paper. My students will make the project and put at top of the writing paper and then write about it. I will be putting these in their memory books. I teach first grade. Look forward to your spring unit.

There are no written directions for this particular packet. There ARE, however, picture cues that show children the steps to drawing the animals. African Jungle Animals was one of my first products, so it is presented a little differently than my other products. (This product has been revised since I gave this response. Please see the comments on the product page!) I am presently working on a spring themed product, but it is not yet ready. I like to try them in my classroom first before posting to work out any problems! I do have a free product centering around flowers. I truly meant that I was trying to support the people I was getting the free stuff from. I also need to apologize for my comment. It was without merit because I didn't say anything constructive. Now after looking back over your product, I think the problem was me. I think I was a little overwhelmed with all of the different ways to measure. The product is a lot to take in and I was not prepared for so much. Oh gosh! Thanks! I have been doing these types of books with my kinder students for years and just this summer decided to try to see if anyone else might be interested. I have a pumpkin book that I do with my students, but it is not ready to sell yet. I will see if I can get it together soon and let you know. Are you a follower? Because if you are, you will get notification of when I post a new product. I have a Native American one on the drawing board and hope to get it ready by Thanksgiving. TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I taught second grade for 7 years in a small, rural school. After a short break to raise my children, I was offered a kindergarten position and am still there many years later and loving every minute!I can honestly say that I still jump out of bed each school morning eager to begin the day with my little ones!
MY TEACHING STYLE
I believe that it is the teacher's job to inspire, but after the inspiration, it is then the teacher's job to step back and let the learning begin. Most of my student's day is spent in small groups, but I also believe that much can be learned in a large group setting, too. It is my belief that children learn the best when they are creating, so we do a lot of drawing, cutting, painting, and gluing in my classroom! I love it when my kinders come to school saying "What are we going to make today, Teacher?" I LOVE the love notes they write to me and I love the fact that they LOVE school! I am inspired by my students and cannot think of a better way to live my life.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and have taken MANY graduate level classes in Curriculum design, curriculum mapping, guided reading instruction, gifted education, and math and science curriculum writing. I graduated from Southern Illinois University and my graduate courses have been taken at both the University of Illinois and Eastern Illinois University.
ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
I have 3 grown children of which I am extremely proud! My husband is a corn and soybean farmer and I have formed some wonderful relationships with my colleagues at the parochial school in which I teach. I have been granted many blessings and for them, I am thankful! My daughter is an artist and has contributed her beautiful paintings to a few of my products. It has been fun to collaborate with her!
